Really like this tv stand. The instructions were clear and easy to follow. Be sure to read the general instructions first. It is definitely a project for two people. It is a good idea to allow two days to assemble this, but it is worth the effort.

This stand looks more expensive than it is and has more storage space than you would expect. I highly recommend hiring someone to assemble it. It comes with a thousand pieces and can take a full day to assemble.

    • Royal pain to put together

This was a gift to a friend and he spent much of a Saturday putting this together. He said none of the screw holes lined up right and he had to drill new ones. Now that it's together he likes the look of it but he says he doesn't EVER want to put something like that together again.

This a good cabinet, but when it arrived it came in a 5" long box. At first glance it did not look like it was much but when I tried to move the box that the delivery driver left by my door in the rain and did not ring the bell. So I was in a hurry to get it out of the weather. When I heaved it up it stayed down. This was one heavy box, I man handled it inside and just about hurt myself. this is when I realized that this was not a flimsy piece of furniture. So I got my dolly and moved it into the living room where I spent the next 3 days putting it together. Now the cabinet came complete with all you need is a screw driver. They advise against the use of power drivers. But there are some 3" screws that I would not hesitate to use the driver on. as they are quite tight and hard to screw in. So in this respect I deviated from the directions. They even supply you with the glue for the dowels. Here too I deviated and used wood glue that I knew that once applied it was very hard indeed to break the seal. As to the directions they are concise in that each is lettered and the directions guide you to put it together by sections. Each one needed to be placed just so, As I later found as i started to put the sections together. As it does not label them as to what is top or bottom or front or rear. So i found myself diassembling sections and switching pieces around as I found when I went to put them together that something would be upside down or facing the wrong way. My eyesight is good but only by squinting and staring at the drawings of each section could I see how each deviated from the other. Thus i was able to get it together. I found the putting the doors together was a 2 person job. As they were the last pieces to go on according to the directions. As I got close to finishing it i could not help but notice the finish of the wood and how straight it all came together after i figured it all out. Since finishing I have received many compliments on the cabinet and beauty and quality of it. If the directions had been more concise or the pieces labeled better, thus making this a difficult build I would have given this 5 stars. As to would I recommend it, I do not hesitate with a yes. As it is very nice piece of furniture especially for the price. But with the warning to pay very close directions to the drawings, and take your time before gluing, be sure each piece fits as it is supposed to. ... show more

    • Don't order in expresso tone...stain issues

First of all didn't receive the color I ordered and I have done business with this company before trying to get another style. That failed miserably. After three attempts just gave up. Then found this cabinet from same manufacturer and thought I give it one more shot especially since it was on sale but would try a different color. Biggest issue with other cabinet was flaws in stain. Well, they sent same expresso color rather than the brown I ordered and it has same stain flaw issues as other cabinet. Cabinet was put together buy time I got home and there were issues with mislabeled pieces and one piece had predrilled starter hole in wrong end for catch plate. I definitely would not recommend anything from this company in expresso color. Not sure about other colors since they didn't send the one I ordered. I would have liked to try to send it back for correct color and see if issues are just with the expresso colors but since it was put together before I saw it not sure I want to try. I do like the styles thus manufacturer makes but quality definitely leaves something to be desired. ... show more

The thing I noticed was just how much thought went into the packaging. It was well prepared for shipping. It would be very hard to damage it! When I opened it, it was truly a great looking peace of work, I mean the wood grain looks wonderful and would look good in anyone's family or living room, but then I noticed it's made of particle board with black wood grain stick-on veneer. I could hear the particle board making shearing and cracking sounds as I drove the wood screws into the panels. Nothing actually broke or split, but it sounded like it might and admittedly I was a little concerned! The holes were even predrilled and if it wasn't for that I am sure that the particle board panels would have split apart under pressure as the screws were driven into them. Structurally, I don't think it's that strong, but it's not going to just fall apart either. It's a great looking cabinet, but personally I wouldn't move it around too much at all. I put it in my family room and all in all am happy with it! ... show more
