I was a bit disappointed when it arrived because it had a coating. The wood looked brick red rather than natural acacia. Pictures are very deceiving online. After reading many of the reviews, one of which recommended coating it with polyurethane, I took that reviewer’s advice. Also, I live in Florida and although my lanai is covered it is still exposed to high humidity. I did alot of research online as it relates to protecting acacia wood. Before assembly, I sanded with 320 grit which revealed the beautiful color it is now. I used Minwax clear polyurethane satin finish. Do not use a synthetic brush—buy a natural bristle. I used a small 1-1/2 inch brush. I mistakenly purchased the oil based instead of water based—it just took longer to dry. You must dilute the polyurethane with denatured alcohol (4 parts poly to 1 part alcohol). Best to apply a thin coat. I waited 3 days after 1st coat and lightly sanded again with 320 grit, used a tac cloth to remove dust and applied another thin coat of poly. I waited another 3 days for it to dry. Surface should be dry to the touch—not tacky. I then used #3 steel wool and I was finished. Assembly was easy. It was a time consuming project that took a little more than a week but was it worth the effort as the table is beautiful. ... show more

Holes did not line up with screws, as a result, the wood split on the bottom shelf. Very disappointed. Will live with it. A 25% credit would be nice, I almost cussed twice. Beware! Oh, nice table.

    • Missing Parts, Can’t get what I need from the Co.

Updated to add: Walker Edison customer service turned out to be great about the resolution. It took a while (about 6 weeks from beginning to end) but they came through and I got the parts I needed. The table looks great on my porch and I love the lower shelf for flowers and such. I generally love the stuff I get from Walker Edison, but, unfortunately, this time I received a defective product. My table came with 4 of the same exact legs. This is a problem because the legs have a notch that must fit exactly for the shelf to screw into. In order to complete the assembly I need these two other legs. I’ve reached out to Company three times and have yet to receive any acceptance of the issue nor a confirmation that they are mailing the two legs. I kept the box and will definitely be returning it if they can’t make it right. ... show more

Love love love this table! Looks so good on our back patio and is very great quality. Super easy to put together and study! My only complaint is that it is about 2 inches too tall meaning it will be uncomfortable to put your feet up on as it is too high. Will probably just shave off the legs a little and not add the bottom shelf level which is not pictured. Otherwise it is amazing and I would highly recommend! ... show more

Assembly was easy. Everything lined up and went together with no problems. Took 10 mins once the parts are laid out. If you found the assembly complicated, your father failed you. DO NOT use a power drill or impact driver to assemble the bolts. You’ll likely strip it. Once assembled I triple coated with Helsman spar varnish and I’m hoping for years of covered outdoor use. ... show more

These are nice tables for the price, but the slates look they were cut will a dull blade. I also just noticed the slates are starting to warp. Maybe it’s the wood, I don’t know.
