I love this shelf. It was easy to put together, very spacious and the quality is great. I will say that it does seem to lean and not stand as sturdy when placed on carpet. This however was very easy to remedy. I placed a command hook on my wall and then secured a clear zip tie to the metal safety hook on the shelf and then hook that onto the command hook that is attached to the wall. This secured the shelf to the wall nicely, without having to actually drill into the wall to secure it. You are not even able to see the command hook when looking at the shelf straight on so I was pleased with this hack. However I wouldn't recommend doing this to those who may have smaller children in their house. But in that case, the shelf does come with a safety strap that can be bolted into the wall. Wow, wow, wow. I ordered this unit and it arrived damaged from shipping. Both side peices had been crushed so I couldn't even assemble. I visited the Walker Edison website and filled out a simple damaged part form. I was contacted by Walker Edison via email and they said the parts were on backorder for 6 weeks - so they were sending me an entire new unit, and they didn't even want the original unit or broken pieces back! Now THAT'S customer service! I highly recommend this unit and ANYTHING by Walker Edison, very impressive company! 👏👏👏👏👏 ... show more

You may have noticed other reviews stating how they expected such and expensive product to be made with real wood instead of the heavy "manufactured" stuff and how it was wobbly. I can't speak to the wobbliness since I couldn't even assemble the final product, but the "wood" was definitely manufactured and heavy. My main issue is that two of the 4 shelves had pre-drilled holes that were a quarter inch off. There's no fixing the shelf itself, so I contacted the company. I explained the situation, provided pictures, and within 3 days I was given a tracking number with the promise of replacement shelves. What I received was a box that had one shelf. I didn't bother seeing if the part was drilled correctly as I still would need another shelf. I notified support, got the standard "you'll get a response in 3 business days" reply, and then nothing. A week went by with no response and the deadline to return to Amazon was approaching so I returned the product. Everything I've read and experienced says this company no longer produces a quality product, uses quality materials, or gives quality support. Avoid the headache and don't buy Walker Edison products. ... show more

This shelving unit is pretty, but when it comes to substance, not so much. I read other reviews and many did mention the stability issue, but I thought maybe they didn't put it together right? So, I decided to get it anyway because the price was unbeatable. I do like it, but it's a reminder that you get what you pay for. It was super easy to put together, and it felt sturdy laying flat on the floor, but as soon as we moved it upright, it was a weebly-wobbly mess! Other reviewers mentioned needing to reinforce it and I will have to do the same. The instructions even say, "if the unit sways, put heavy books on the bottom shelf to stabilize it" LOL! So, there you go. At least they are honest about products functionality. Hooking to the wall will also help, but I haven't done that yet. So, is it aesthetically pleasing? Yes. Does it look nice in my office? Yes. Can I use it? No. Not without some seriously heavy books or some MacGuyvered additional supports. Will I return it? No. I'm keeping it and will make it work. Not worth the hassle. Would I recommend it to others? If you need an affordable shelving unit and you or someone you know is relatively handy to help create some additional supports, then yes, I would. If you're looking for a solid piece that stands on it's own with no other help, then keep looking as this is not the piece for you. ... show more

This bookcase is beautiful - I get compliments every time someone comes over! It was a little tough to put together but I am not handy and have no patience, so… don’t take my word for that. The quality and beauty tho - perfect! Love the whole collection, I have a tv stand and credenza I use as a bar from walker edison and they’re all stunning.
