I love apple butter and I thought after looking at the picture and reading the description that this might be a good alternative. Both lies! No smoothness to this product just a gelatinous soup with no smell at all. The jar went from the box into the trash as it was not edible.

I am a diabetic but I still love peanut butter and jelly sandwiches. Now I use natural or no sugar added peanut butter and fruit-only kinds of jellies. Sugar free jelly lacks some critical component to taste and I haven't found one I really like. This is more like an apple butter flavored sugar free jelly. As sugar free jellies go, it's quite tasty, but it in no way reminds me of real apple butter. It's a jelly rather than having the applesauce consistency I was expecting. You might like it, but be warned that it's not a very good approximation of apple butter. In my case it was shipped with a 4 pound hammer in a giant box, so both jars arrived with dented and loose lids. I would be careful about what they might ship it with. ... show more

I know as a diabetic for many years how easy it is to get excited about something you love without sugar, but trust me this doesn't taste like apple butter it tastes like very strong cinnamon only, the texture is like runny jelly not like spreadable apple butter at all, i try not to be wasteful but i couldn't even make myself eat it! Im not trying to offend the company they just hit the target with this one ... show more

    • Flavour is the best part
The flavour is excellent, and that is the most important attribute. It does not spread like jam so it can be a little messy as the gel lacks coherence as it is sugar free. Serving direct from the refrigerator does help in this regard.

The consistency is definitely like a jelly/jam not like a traditional apple butter. This did not matter to me. The taste was really a great deep apple flavor with just the right amount of spices. I would and have purchased again.
