TASTE & CONSISTENCY: truly awful taste and no way is it easy to spread. "Consistency": little chunks of a grayish jellied substance in smelly waterish liquid. NOTE: I have tried other flavors of this Walden Product; however, the only two that I would recommend are the "Strawberry Spread" and "Blueberry Spread". UPDATE/10/28/2022 ... since the jar was opened, I decided to refrigerate the product for a couple of days to see if the consistency would firm up. It did so; furthermore, the "taste" was greatly improved after refrigeration.

Too sweet. Lumpy mix. Nothing like apple butter at all which are the biggest product headline on the label. You can’t get a refund for this awful product.

This stuff has nothing to do with apples or butter. It is a thin, gooey substance which seems composed entirely of chemicals! It has ZERO calories and ZERO taste. It is simply a non entity. It has: "apple extract color". In other words, another chemical. That is the closest you are going to get to apples with this brown slime. This is a ripoff. Don't be fooled. And I can't even return it! I admit, I wasn't expecting much , but I figured it would at least taste like apples and be spreadable. Neither is true. You put it on with a spoon, for it is a thin brown slime. This is a shameful product for amazon to be peddling.

It’s like eating apple flavor jello!! Nothing like apple butter!! I have to put a lot of whipped cream on it to make it edible! I would return it but I opened it to taste it. Big mistake!!

Ok so I was looking for a sugar free alternative to apple butter or even jam. This stuff took 3 ppl attempting to finally open. I tasted it and it was nasty and slimey AND EXPENSIVE almost 22 bucks!!!!! It does not have even remotely the taste or appearance of apples. I have a rule especially if it was expensive tried it twice. Not even peanut butter improved it. Do your wallet & taste buds a favor and keep searching or better yet make apple butter for your self. I feel ripped off.
