Mine was not dark gray as the description picture showed. I love it anyway, but it's blue. I did not use the flash in the second photo. A good color I think for spring. From winter until now I had a comforter from this company -botanical with a black background. Be prepared for either a light gray or a blue to be delivered.

At first I planned to send these back because the color was much lighter than the pictures show, BUT they come with a trial, so I put them on my bed. Hubby wasn't too impressed at first, but again that was just by looking at them. Then we turned in for the night. Nice comforter, but I commented that I might add a second blanket because the comforter is so airy and light. NO NEED! Whatever fairy hands created this cloud-in-a-blanket made it perfect! It's light, but holds all the heat. I still find myself putting a leg outside the blanket. No smell when I first opened the packaging, the comforter puffs up in no time at all, and the pillow cases stay in place on the pillows. The ONLY drawback I can find is that it's so hard to get out of bed now!

I was looking for a comforter with soft and masculine touches that my husband would also like. This was a perfect compromise and he absolutely loves the color, the style and the overall comfort. It has to be one of the softest comforters we have ever purchased (we have purchased quite a few since we have 5 bedrooms). This by far is something I wish came in different colors to put in every room! I washed it prior to me putting it on the bed and the color didn't fade or lose the soft texture it had when un-packaging. We bought a king size, and it fits pretty nicely. I do wish it was a little bigger, but I think it may be because of our mattress height or type of bed we have (12" hybrid mattress, and a standard bed, not platform). I know it didn't shrink or anything like that. It comes with King size pillow coverings, so keep that in mind. You need a King pillow! The colors are true to the picture. I just want to crawl in bed with this comforter everyday, all day! Going to try and see if I can get something similar from the same manufacturer.

We bought the Cal King set. Our mattress is slightly taller/thicker than a regular Cal King. That said, the comforter fit a bit shorter than expected but we figured out why. The color and design are great, lightweight material, and perfect as a summer set.
