This was an exact replacement for my Stack-On safe. I ordered this as my bottom 6 keys quit working on the original. This was an easy replacement with only needing the outer keypad and the inner circuit board. All other parts including the original keys could be reused.

After 2 years my combination lock quit opening with the programed combination. There was no way to reset it. This lockset was an exact match for my safe. Although it included a new solenoid switch and keys, I did not need them and chose to use my existing solenoid and keys as they worked fine. I am not a locksmith but I'm pretty good with hand tools. (Instructions state to have a locksmith install this lock). I have a Homak gun safe that was having problems with the electronic lock. I called Homak and they said the safe was too old for them to help. (Bought it about 10 years ago.) I checked on Amazon and there were several lock options. This lock looked close to what I have on my safe and it ended up fitting perfectly. The original threaded holes in the safe's door fit exactly to the new touch pad backing plate. There was a difference in the operation. A separate push button switch had to be installed to reset the entry code. I installed it on a flange on the inside of the door. The button is secure and the code can't be changed when the safe is closed and locked. The backup/override key also fit through the door without any adjustments. ... show more

The key pad on my sports afield gun safe randomly had half of the push button quit working. I found this key pad and could see it used a 9 volt battery system and mine was a double a battery system in the door. After pulling the inside cover off it looked like I could get the 9 volt battery parts to work. I ordered the parts, they came fast. I just unplugged the harness from the double a batteries and used the same lock mechanism and password reset button. Put a 9vlt battery behind the cover and everything works great. Not great, not like the original. On my Cannon Safari, the original finally gave up the ghost. After reading a lot of reviews...I chose this one as a replacement. Install was pretty straight forward, the extra circuit board that was inside the safe is now crammed in the keypad...it fits, just have to take it slow and have patience...adding my own code was a tad confusing, it took me several attempts to realize it had accepted my own code. Now I enter it, and it unlocks...but only gives me a yellow light. Strange. Oh well...it works, and locks quicker than the original, someday when it needs replaced, I'll probably get another one. ... show more
