I wanted to smoke my deflectors but I saw this when I was making my purchase and figured for such a low price it was worth trying first. I loved how it turned out! I’ve only done some light tint and decal installs but I found this pretty easy to work with. The roll is a bit thick and hard to manipulate but it cut pretty cleanly and easily with a 30 degree blade. The iridescent color looks amazing. Was hoping to wrap a helmet visor and figured this would be a professional product. This is not as described and does not apply anything like in the instructions or video. Half the product had creased imbedded in the film. At first I figured, well if stretches like they show then as soon as I "heat and stretch" maybe all the little veiny creases will disappear. I don't know what product they use in the video, but it is not the same product I received. This film has basically zero stretch and only shrivels and curls when heated leaving wilted looking surface. It behaves more like heat shrink and any attempt to "stretch" the film across the surface will only causes even more severe wrinkles. Multiple attempts ranging from a little heat (worried I would over heat), to a little more heat (because a little heat didn't work), to a lot of heat (thinking I wasn't heating enough). I even took a test sample, heated the crap out of it and trying to pull it/stretch it, and it basically resists stretching and only shrivels and wrinkles. If you get a film that isn't creased AND you're working on a mostly flat surface with almost no contour, I'm sure you can make it work by starting in the center and working the air out. I wouldn't recommend using any heat, nor applying the film to anything with much or any curvature. I'm glad I didn't waste a lot of money, only time, but lesson learned. Obviously I'll have to be more selective in the future for when I think I'm buying a quality brand. ... show more

Second time I bought product to replace first one. Very hard to work with. Not sure if heat needs to be applied before even unwrapping from roll. Tried both with protective film on and off and still same result. Cracks in film that wi not go away. Have used other vivid film with great results. Just guess the holographic film is hard to work with or just for pros. Edited. Got actual film from vivid direct. Looks great took some time and works better with protective film off when heating. Heat slowly and do not over stretch you will tear the holographic film. I took off my bumper to get better coverage since outer parts will not be perfect but hidden mostly by bumper around edges. ... show more

    • Tough to use on curves

Good - This works great on straight lines or slight curves. Bad - The material is extremely sticky, will wrinkle, heat doesn't help but instead it makes it worst. The film is really thick and tough to get a clean cut sometimes. I tried to cut a piece that was about the size of my headlight. I tried a few times and each time the same thing would happen, when you go from the straight to a curve or vice versa, wrinkles. Not bubble wrinkles either these were full on wrinkles. The paper I received started out fine when I went to do my indicators and side mirrors, front and rear badges, slight curves. But anything that flares out, has a bubble, like most headlights these days, will wrinkle. I tried to see if you can install it wet but didn't find anything on it. Maybe with water it might be easier to work with but even then, the paper comes with lines that run up and down. You will get them either at the front of the roll or towards the end. I am waiting until I have more time off to see if wet has any success. While it looks great on the image, I want the person who installed that film on that Suby to do my forte GT, cause my lights are very similar. The pieces that I did do look really nice, but some pieces took several attempts and these were mostly straight lines. One tip I learned while working with this film, if you decide to try it, Push the film towards where you plan on cutting it out, the excess film should be lifted up and not up against anything at this point. Use your push tool (flat thing to lay the film down) as far as you can without cutting the film then using you finger nail or something similar, try to make the line you plan on cutting, then cut. You can then use your blade to clean up any excess. But be warned, those wrinkles don't come out. ... show more

This film is fairly easy to work with and pretty decent color wise. I wouldn’t rate it a 5 only because the film. And with creases which don’t easily come out with heat. Besides that, great product especially when viewed at a distance.

Absolute junk. It’s SUPER thick, which is good and I was able to wrap it around my extra complicated EP3 Si headlights. But the product I was shipped must have been old and kept cracking as I laid it flat. I figured it would go away once I was done with some heat but it wouldn’t. Decided I was done and did a light pass through test and it darkend the lense at least 40%. I always though this was the best company but the supplier must have sent some malfunctioning vinyl. ... show more

Overall a pretty cool chameleon color, thought it would look good on my blacked out a4. I have much experience tinting taillights so I figured everything would go relatively smooth. The roll unfortunately came with long but very small creases on the outer 6 inches of film and as it was unrolled it created more… not a great start. As I applied the film and attempted to workout the creases I realized they wouldn’t release, so I gave up and continued to smooth the film out as I would on a dark smoke taillight. Used typical heat and everything and the film kept creasing and branching which isn’t unheard of to have maybe one or two but I was having several major ones on top of the long vertical creases from being rolled up. Again I said oh well and moved on to trimming and folding edges over that went fine, it’s usually the easiest part. Finally I went to peel what I figured was a protective film, turns out this was a sticky layer that provided the reflective properties (stupid me, I was used to every other tint having a protective film to eliminate squeegee marks); this effectively ruined the already poor looking tint job. At that point I tore off the tint and won’t be using vvivid on my car anytime soon. I would assume that the tint in the instructional video came from a larger roll and therefore didn’t get the long vertical creasing, versus the tightly wound roll sold here. Regardless, I think the concept is great but the film just didn’t seem to do well rolled up and shipped around, or allow for easy smoothing, you are *almost guaranteed to get branching and creasing. ... show more
