Too bad the baby is not leaving the review for this toy as she may give it 5 stars. From a parent perspective, this ball is quite heavy which is not a problem until your baby decides that she wants to lift its awkward shape over her head and cannot support it weight and comes crashing down. The little turtle on the top that spins, presumably to give the ball some centrifugal force in order to spin it around does not really work. She tends to grab the turtle while it tries to spin and the ball just clicks and sounds like it it breaking on the inside. You can't really roll the ball around either as it has buttons that prevent it from rolling smoothly. All in all, its okaaaaay but does not warrant a 5 star in my opinion.

I thought i liked the idea of this product so bought it . It would be good only under supervision. I returned it . A baby who is only learning to crawl could get hurt if not carefull . The turtle/ tortoise on top rotates and can hit the head , eye . Another reason for returning was there was shapes and numbers on it but only song for numbers and the bird wouldn’t work , which probably was for the shapes.

This doesn't roll on carpet which was disappointing since it's supposed to move to motivate babies to crawl. The toy yells "catch me, catch me if you can" and then swirls around and stays in place. It also yells out things like "I'm a red cat" while stationary even though you aren't pushing any buttons, all of which is pretty stupid. I was going to return it but my baby does like it for the sounds, buttons, and movement. The turtle on top swirls around so babies will not be able to resist the urge to grab the turtle. It makes a sad clicking noise while it's movement is being thwarted by little pudgy fingers is still holding up. For how long remains to be seen.

I have two twin nephews who I needed to get a 1 year old birthday gift for and this fit the bill perfectly. They were micro preemies so are delayed many months and haven’t started walking, much less one who hasn’t started to crawl yet due to medical struggles. I wanted to get toys that would encourage movement and this was one that I settled on. Out of the many toys they received, they LOVED this so much! They actually sat and started to ‘fight’ over the ball and it led to some great pictures! So it was a winning present and I’m so happy to have gotten it for them. Onto my actual views of this toy. If I were to rate it based solely on my own impressions I would give it a 4/5 stars but I’m basing it on how much they liked it and are getting use out of it. Personally, I think there are a few issues, one being the weight of the ball. It is quite heavy for a baby/toddler so if they decide to try picking it up they realize halfway through that it is too heavy. Also, depending upon what kind of flooring you have it may not roll too well on a thicker pile carpet. The battery also does not last a super long time with continued use. Onto the positives: it has colors, numbers, animals, and some basic games to play. It has a few different tactile learning things—like a spinner ontop of the ball for instance. When the baby gets bored the music will start back up and regain their interest once more. It has clear options on the toy as to how to use. And the best of all is the price. You get a well rounded toy for a very reasonable price. And for new parents having to buy so many things, it is great to have an inexpensive toy that does so many different actions.

Bought for my granddaughter, box was damaged and not wrapped, but still secured to the bottom, so thought I would try it out.... turtle spins loudly, when it spins! Does not play all the songs noted in pamphlet, bird works only occasionally, if your supposed to be able to touch numbers???they don’t work at all!!! Did what directions said and took out batteries, even replaced with new...still not working like listed or according to video I watched on utube!!! Was looking forward to using it next week:(

Be careful that your baby is ready for the ball. I say that in terms of the baby being afraid. Because of the random rolling, my son was very afraid of the ball. He loved it without being turned on for about 2-3 weeks. Then we turned it on but held it in place so it would not roll. Once he got used to that, he loves it. The battery died quickly, within 2 months, and we didn’t use it very often because as I mentioned, it scared my son at first. The buttons are rather stiff/sticky. But a baby likes slamming things anyway so it’s not much to worry about if you have an aggressive player.

Such a great toy! My 8 month old baby gets bored so easily with toys but she loves this one! And when she moves into something else, the ball starts making noise to get her attention again, so she never seems to get bored! And this toy is educational as well so it will last well into her early years! It teaches numbers, colors, animals, and has games to play! Well done, Vtech!
