  • Great Printer for Beginners
Style: Aquila
This is an unbelievably good printer for the price. I've had it for 2 weeks now and I've been printing with it almost non-stop. I've had zero issues with it. The issues people are having are all user error. You DO NOT level a bed with a digital level. You have to level the bed to the tip of the nozzle. Heat your bed to 60 degrees, then wait 20 minutes before leveling so that the aluminum below the glass heats up and expands. You'll have better prints if you do this. Next, click on auto home and disable steppers. Finally, take a sheet of paper and place it under the nozzle and adjust until the paper can slide underneath the nozzle with a little vibration (you'll feel this vibration from the nozzle). Do this on all 4 corners multiple times. After that's done, you'll be ready to print. Idk about y'all, but I always check screws before using something for the first time. While assembling, spend 2 minutes checking every screw. It'll save you time later. If anyone has problems, check out 3DPrintSOS on YouTube. His channel is all about this printer. He has great information about getting started, upgrades, and software. I definitely recommend his channel to everyone with this printer. ... show more

  • Great printer, poor customer service. The star reduction is strictly for the service response.
Style: Aquila
The media could not be loaded. The pros: First off, this is an awesome printer. The printer itself, when fully functional, is 5-star for the cost vs what you get. Large print bed, heated print bed, etc. It is easy to use and for someone like me who has never used a 3D printer, it wasn't too difficult to set-up following their video. The prints look nice and clean. The cons: The service/support doesn't seem up to snuff. I contacted them regarding a bad fan. I gave them proof of purchase and even a video (seen here) about the problem. They sent me a "fix" that had nothing to do with the problem. Now it's been over a week with 3 attempts to get this resolved without a reply. Completely ignored. Due to the cost and time to build/unbuild and the pain in shipping, I'll probably end up opening it up, finding a compatible fan, and fixing it myself at my expense even though this is less than 2 weeks old. UPDATE: Voxelab refused to respond or do anything about the defective part, so I decided to return it instead of spending the money to fix a new product. ... show more

  • Get a Bently for the price of a Toyota
Style: Aquila
What can I say? I was a total noob to 3D printing, and I couldn't have picked a better machine to pop that cherry with. I have had this for about 10 days now, with dozens of hours worth of tinkering with it to have put it to a proper test. The assembly was not bad, I remodel houses for a living so I had no trouble figuring it out. However, if you are not mechanically inclined be ready to take your time and really use the pictures in the instructions to get it. Maybe go to YouTube for help. The instructions aren't all that detailed, and the English isn't the best. As for print quality, I couldn't ask for better. Right out of the box,, without even knowing how to level the bed nor even attempting to,, I ran the test print. She printed flawlessly. I then dove down this rabbit hole that is 3D Printing. I literally obsessed over this with every ounce of my OCD, learning as much as I can about it. I now have dozens of successful prints, a few fails that can only be blamed on my learning curve, and honestly... this is an awesome machine for 3D hobbiests and professionals alike. It is a clone of the Ender 3 V2, and every bit as good, truly earning a solid 5 star rating. ... show more

  • First printer was a dud, second one works great so far!
Style: Aquila
When I first purchased this printer, I was having a ton of issues with it - heat creep, some files not printing at all, constantly freezing. I was in constant communication with after-sales support and they were very unhelpful. I initially wrote a very negative review highlighting my experiences and the Amazon seller reached out to me to help. They sent me a brand new printer since my first one was a complete dud. The new printer is working flawlessly! I have not had any issues with heat creep, files failing, or freezing. This seller was very kind and a great help. 2ish-week update: I've been using the new printer almost constantly and every print has come out beautifully. Pros: - Prints come out looking very clean. Print lines are almost unnoticeable. -The filament that is included with the printer is really pretty, and it's more than enough to print all the test files included in the SD card -The printer includes multiple test print files that actually print useful things (a tool box, an adjustment knob, a hook) -The printer includes all of the tools needed to put it together and do any repairs, if necessary -Packaging is very secure! All printer parts are sufficiently padded and everything is labeled. Cons: -The construction instructions can be pretty confusing. I had to look up videos on how to put it all together the first time I built it (at the time, the only one I could find was in French) -While the Cura profile, software, and installation instructions are included on the SD card there was nowhere in the manual that explained they were there -- so I actually didn't see them until support pointed it out to me -It's a bit tricky if you're newer to 3D printing like I am. There was a lot to learn about leveling the bed and calibrating everything (I'd only used self-leveling printers prior to this). -After-sales support is slow to respond and never gives full information. For example, they have sent me files or instructed me to do something but haven't fully explained what to do with the file or how to access certain components of the machine -The provided SD card is pretty cheap. It works fine, but I'd still recommend getting a different one. -There is not a lot of information online for this machine. A couple of YouTubers have popped up to take advantage of this and a subreddit was created to help folks, but beyond that it can be difficult to solve issues just by Googling While I am still a bit cautious of this new printer based on my first experience, everything has been going well so far (I'll update if it goes awry or if things continue to go smoothly). I'm sticking with 4/5 stars simply for that reason and for the lack of useful after-sales support. I would recommend this printer to beginners, with the caveat that there might be a learning curve (which is of no fault to the printer itself). Tip: The glass bed comes with some kind of coating on it that can cause your filament to not stick as well. If you take some 70% isopropyl alcohol and a microfiber cloth and clean it 4-5 times, things stick much better. You'll see some yellow residue being removed and once you clean it and it doesn't give a foggy appearance anymore, you know you've succeeded. ... show more
