These are actually fairly nice tools. I had them in my cart and ordered then canceled due to some of the reviews and answered questions. Nervously I canceled the order and then re-ordered them. As the photo suggest they are very nice and quality. I received a gift of a similar item that was very poor quality, so I ordered these. I am a craftsman by trade, in the automotive field. I understand quality tools. No I have not use these yet to find out metal strength or whether they will bend, they appear to be of a decent quality for the money. Was initially concerned about purchasing based on others reviews however my experience has been nothing but good with this tool set. The main concerns I read in other’s comments were: 1. Tools broke while trimming/cutting 2. Tools arrived rusted Neither of these issues occurred with the tools I received. They arrived sharp with no visible rust and the cutting area of all tools was very sharp. Initially I was very conservative about my limb trimming based on the concerns around tool breakage however I have since been able to easily cut 1/4” to 1/2“ limbs without concern. I’m sure this is dependent on the hardness of the wood you’re attempting to trim however I would say if while trimming the cutting edge will not slice any further into the wood and instead the pressure you are creating at the handle is what is driving the tool further than you likely need to sharpen the tool or use a different tool. Otherwise you are no longer cutting you’re snapping (either the wood or the tool...) If you’re new to the hobby, like myself, I highly recommend trying this set for the price! ... show more

    • Far exceeds my expectations for what it is.
I am well experienced with tools of all kinds over many years, forge knives, MADE tools from casting to finish. These tools far exceed my expectations for what they are both in utility, design, quality and finish. Update: I have used these tools for their intended use now for MANY months. Their intended use is light duty specialized pruning. They have worked quite well. My advice is to INSURE you are matching these tools to the intended purpose before you buy them. Always wear safety glasses and do not expect the tool to do that function as some here have. Take care of the tools - dry them, use alcohol wipes to clean, a little light oil, etc., in other words like any other "tool". I have read some of these1 star/2 star reviews and they are quite entertaining but have little substance. Bonsai takes time, patience and far reaching planning. Honestly, I cannot see some of these "reviewers" having any of those qualities. ... show more
