I love the hook on each lamp holder. It's made for hanging on a wire or gutter but is easily adapted to whatever else is around. The lights are nice. They don't have a diffuser, the outside is clear and there's just a smart reflector that sends the light out. For some applications I'd rather have the diffused/opaque style but these have a very clean and modern look. Love the shatterproof and weatherproof bulbs. I think I'm going to move these to a dock so they won't (hopefully) be in the water but they will get wet and conceivably COULD go in the drink. The lights work well by app or by remote. I prefer the remote for outdoor use but the app isn't bad - and it unlocks some patterns that either aren't in the remote or you'd have a hard time finding them. I have two strings attached to one controller right now and they look amazing! ... show more

Bought these lights for a short term rental. Love that our guests have the option of using the app or the remote that came with them. I bought 2 sets to hook together. Both work great. I wanted these light because you can change each light a different color. That you can do but the color I wanted most was Red, White and Blue. The white is not white. You can do cool white which is blue or warm white that is an orangish color. So now I just have them at Red and Blue. I was very disappointed as is changed the way I wanted to decorate. ... show more

I bought these to hang around a back yard deck. But they didn't quite meet this objective. A key consideration was there was no way to control them without the remote or a phone. That is, no on/off switch. Keeping a remote out by the deck would not be feasible and having anyone having the phone app would also not be easy. Beyond that, the lights were not as bright as I would have liked although they lit it up enough. However, at the same time, the LEDs were pretty bright which I didn't like. A purchased a replacement set that are brighter, but use a different LED style which is not as distracting. I am sure for the right use case, these lights would be fine. ... show more

Update 9-15-23 Company has replaced both sets of lights. It took time because of an update to the product. Great customer service. I would be happy to buy from them in the future. Update 8-18-23. The company has offered a full refund and a sample of a new improved light. I will update the score when they follow thru. ***Original review - After less than three months these lights are now trash. There is water in the bulb housing and they no longer light up. ... show more
