Honestly I thought I was buying a light egyptian towel material or like a lightweight boho pants cotton, but this is like canvas weight. Looks great, well made, great deal. If you need full "black out" curtains, you won't be happy with these. They work okay with venetian blinds behind them, but sun still sneaks in around the edges. Very pleased with the curtains. They hang so nicely - similar to linen. Colors & Pattern are just what is advertised. Fabric is a bit stiffer than expected but they washed well & have no wrinkles so maybe that's why. No odor at all. I'd say they're 50% blackout & definitely soften bright sunlight & no see thru at all. The curtains are covering 6 - 8 inches on the sides of some of the windows to see how much sun it blocks out. ... show more

Great colors, love the tassels. Very Boho! They are not lined, therefore, they are not black out drapes. However, when closed, they do a pretty good job at providing privacy, just not room darkeners.
