I really like the look of these tail lights! The video shows the "wake up" sequence from when you unlock the car. Installation notes: Throw away the "install guide" that comes with the lights; it's worthless. Harbor Freight shopping list: Plastic auto interior pry tools, step drill bits, zip ties (or electrical wrapping tape), plastic bushings. The installation is fairly straightforward, except you'll need a path for red and yellow wires to run from the outboard light electrical harness up the trunk hinge, to the inboard lights. There is no opening in that sheet metal behind the outboard light, so you'll have to make one. Drill a 1/8" pilot hole, then carefully use the step drill to final-size the hole to your snap bushing. I went as small as possible with the snap bushing, meaning I had to cut the wires, then butt joint them together inside the car. I also sealed the wires through the bushing with some silicone, to keep any water seepage out. The installation videos I found on YouTube showed guys just running those wires across the sheet metal edges under the rubber trunk trim. Do NOT do this! It's an obvious chafing point, and will simply cause those wires to separate in time. I love the finished look of these taillights! Also, I consider amber turn signals to be a safety issue, definitely worth it. ... show more

The taillights were great at first and everything was functioning. However I just noticed that my brake lights are delayed. The middle brake light would come on first followed by the right then the left brake. This happens sequentially within one second.

While the tail lights are amazing to look at, the fitment is not great. The clips don’t align to the point of clicking in place, instead they float in the holes. This make the small bracket the only thing holding them..

I tried lights from two other brands and here is what I learned: The VLAND fit the best. The packaging was satisfactory. The look is decent, though the smoke effect is simply a smoked lens. Other companies used black internals with clear lens which looks cleaner and allows more light through. They can definitely be better, but we don't have many options. Honestly they change the whole look of my car and installation was fairly simple. I would say for the inner lights on the trunk to use the original hardware from the old lights, the newer bolts got stuck and didnt wanna come back off so and it was easier to use the oem hardware to attach the lights but other than that it was a breeze, probably a 30 minute install if you dont have any hiccups like it did. ... show more
