  • After 4 years and 4 different drums, it works well.
So I bought two of these (we'll call them the Twins) 9 months ago, and previously I bought an older version of this amount (we'll name it Grandpa) 2 years ago, and also bought the smallest one (53 gallon, we'll name it Junior) about 3 years ago. I say this cuz I don't want to keep constantly writing the size and what year I bought the total 4 rain barrels I own from Vivo. Junior came first. Junior did the job well in collecting and storing the water. Installation was easy with the instructions that you don't need to be a rocket scientist to figure it out. Looks wise, it looks pretty nice. Even to this day Junior still does in all of what I mentioned. The only problem with Junior was that when you connect the spigot to the O-ring to seal it, it didn't make a seal and it leaked. This was the same issue with Grandpa. Grandpa looks nice, Installation was easy, Functionality worked well, and was very stable, yet due to it being the model to where you connect the spigot with the O-ring model to seal it, it too had leaks. I tried caulking the ring both inside and out to make even more of an airtight seal, nope it still leaked. The issue is, everytime you turn on the spigot, it undoes the seal you made on the O-ring (turning on the spigot is the direction to undo the O-ring from the spigot). Same goes the faucet set up too. Hence the Twins. Looks amazing, it is easy to use, installation is easy, it functions amazingly, AANNDD it does not leak anymore since this new version from Vivo has the Spigot sealed to the plastic so there can be no leaks from the spigot join. I have the Twins filled with water from rains that I'll need to order another one. The spigot size is good. The Stability is good with either 6 to 8 sturdy rods that you insert in the barrels. It took me years to figure out what the bright green tube hose is and the white serrated hose is too. Green tube hose is for your bottom spigot to plug into; I use it to fill up my watering can but the seal to plug the green hose into the bottom spigot isn't always great and leaks a bit sometimes when connected. The white serrated tube is to attach to your overflow spout (located on top of the barrel) to wherever you want (I have it set to overflowing to Junior). I recommend you fix that in your instructions Vivosun since you don't list that. All in all, I'd definitely buy again as long as Vivosun keeps upgrading and fixing the bugs here and there. I'll update if there is anything else to update. ... show more

  • Good Product
Color: Black Size: 53 Gallon
I bought this rain barrel over 2 years ago years ago and it's holding strong. The material has proven to be of good quality. I've found dipping my watering can into it is quicker than using the spout.

  • Not purchasing from them again
First, let me say I think the quality of the rain barrel is fine. Well for the most part. As I was putting it together one of the legs cracked. Each leg comes in two parts; top and bottom joined into a plastic section already part of the bottom half of the leg. I didn't think too much of it because it was just a small crack. I went ahead and assembled the barrel and added water. Unfortunately, I could tell the leg had cracked more as it bowed out. So I found the contact information here in the posting. I called them on a Friday mid afternoon (early afternoon for them) during the hours they state they are opened. And this is when the trouble began. I was immediately sent to hold due to customer service people were busy. After 5+ minutes on hold a recording came on stating they were closed. Interesting... closed during their regular business hours. I left my voicemail stating my issue. Almost immediately I received an automatic text stating the information they needed. I did so only to receive 3 more texts requesting information and a picture. One of these texts came in at approximately 2 am! I had already given all the information I could give and could not take a picture of the broken leg since the barrel was full of water. I wasn't dumping the water. Will they replace the broken leg? I have no idea. I do know that they are not making it easy to resolve a problem with them. So the other 2-3 barrels I need will not be purchased from them. Update: They offered me $15 credit for the broken leg because they are unable to replace it. I since emptied what water was in it to remove the broken leg to try to repair it (fail). In the meantime 2 other legs have broken where the legs are joined together. How? It wasn't in use??? DON'T PURCHASE THIS STYLE OF RAIN BARREL that has plastic, two-part legs. ... show more
