I was able to replace the Evaporator in a 2010 Nissan Versa: Created a vacuum which held overnight. Then was able to get Low side and High side reading after topping off the refrigerant. Worked as expected.

First time ever dealing with automotive ac. Watched plenty of YouTube to get an idea on how to vacuum and charge the system. I have a LS swapped 80 series Land Cruiser and this worked as it should vacuuming and charging the system. It’s ice cold.

After removing the internal valves in the yellow hose and the adapter I needed to use, I got this to work well. I'm honestly still not sure if it was the valves, the can tap, the R134a can or me being an idiot... For some reason, I couldn't get refrigerant out of the can and into the AC system. I probably had the valve in the can tap opened too far but I'm not sure. Compared to a manifold I rented earlier this year, it connected to the high and low pressure R134a ports easily. No leaks! Held vacuum for three hours while leak testing. Didn't need to go that long, but I went out for dinner. The pump works but it isn't very powerful. It will eventually pull down to bottom out the gauge, just be patient. Carrying case is cheap but who cares at this price point. Included thermometer is nice to have but I doubt the accuracy. Since I'm only concerned about the temperature difference between w/AC and w/o AC, being 5-10 degrees off doesn't matter. Overall, it worked and got the job done. ... show more
