Used with my new Optoma Laser projector....1st things 1st, I am mechanically inclined so for me this projector mount worked perfectly with no modification, "however" it did require a little planning with the mount install on the projector itself. That said, in order to get my 3 points of contact screws tightened on the projector with the mount, 1 screw just needs to be snug tight but not too tight, enough tightness so you can adjust/move and tighten the other 2 screws really good and so the mounting cage is within the mounting center point of contact with the projector. So you know, Optoma's have only 3 mount holes on the projector itself, some have 4 which won't be a problem for you unless you come up short, I used 3 mount arms on my mount, the object is to center the mount in between the 3 mount holes. If you get stuck and your a man, ask a woman for help, if available....they are better at math and angles - a scientific fact, "utilize any good tool in your toolbox" plus it doesn't hurt to get a fresh different perspective, she just might give you a new plan of approach too. It may sound confusing but it really isn't, while doing it, it would "click" with you..."ah hah I know what he talking about". Here's the thing, a snug tight screw is not going to unloosen, the object it's securing isn't constantly moving or vibrating in any way to make the mounting screws loosen. People get to critical when they have to secure something, and over do it on high dollar value items. I found the parts well made, finished very well and heavy duty to deal with it's job of holding the projector in a fixed position. Happy installing, Marc ... show more

We have the projector mounted on our garage ceiling and it’s working out great! Couldn’t get a good picture of the mount after we got it all assembled with our projector. Shipped quick and would recommend buying it!

I had fiddled around trying to get this to fit on the three points for my Optoma HD146X and I thought it wasn't going to work and I was going to have to get something else (indeed I placed a same-day order with Amazon for two other makes and was willing to buy something model-specific). But I then loosened everything up again and moved things around and it did work! See the final configuration in my first photo. A key thing to note is that the distances between the holes are not equal so it does matter which thing you attach where (because of the three out of four choice). Keep moving the thing around and trying again! The screws supplied are too short to be able to grip into the thread for this projector if you want to use the washer too. Seemed a good idea to use the washer so I went and bought more screws (M4-.70 x 12) from my local hardware store and they worked a treat (they are 1/2 inch not 3/8 inch long). Also note that you don't have clear access to all points to screw in simultaneously - you have to fix them one after the other while having the nuts on the circle part be nice and loose to move things out of the way and then tighten everything up. I followed the example of someone in these reviews to shorten the thing by removing a piece. While I do have my projector on the ceiling now, it's only attached by 2 screws not 4 because of how everything lines up. As a result I am expecting it will tilt to the right (as you look at the photo) because the weight is higher on that side (the three points of attachment are not over the center of gravity of the projector, unfortunately). If I get too tired of straightening it out again I'm going to reattach with all the parts (which I've kept) and just deal with the fact that it will hang a bit lower. On the whole if I were doing this again I'd prefer I had kept all the parts on as supplied. ... show more

Projector one worked great as expected, i should have looked more into and bought one with an adjustable height but that's on me. Was able to get a second one and modify it to mount a soundbar also (i know i know im not supposed to mount it there, but it works well so far!).
