When I first tried to use the top crutch pads I followed videos I saw on line. While it was more comfortable than the original pads on the crutch they had an issue with the new pads rolling around on the crutch making it a bit unstable to use the crutches. Here’s what I did to rectify that issue. I took the Vive pads before installing and pulled the sides up over the top, this reveals an inner sleeve section opened on both ends. I removed the crutch top rubber and inserted it into this sleeve, similar to slipping a hot dog into a bun that only has the ends open. It takes a little bit of effort to do this but when done then install the Vive pad on the top of the crutch. Then you can bring the small Velcro tabs underneath the crutch top and secure. Once done you can pull down the fabric that was rolled up and pull it over both the sides and end. While this sounds somewhat complicated it’s relatively easy and once that’s done the Vive pads then stayed in place without rolling making it much safer and comfortable to use. Hope this helps.

After fighting/taping my pads and grips on my crutches, I decided something had to give since I will be using these crutches off and on for the rest of my life. The pads that were on the crutches when I was issued them kept falling off or sliding around. I asked the medical supply and physical therapists what I could do and they suggested tape. I tried that and the slipping continued and the tape got dirty. This all ended up to be a safety hazard in my mind. I searched numerous places and came across these. I have used them for a few days now and I am certainly glad I purchased these. They stay in place and are extremely comfortable.

The product arrived quickly, was simple to install, & provides far superior & comfortable support than standard crutch materials. I will be dependent on crutch support for 8-10 more weeks and these supports are welcome relief! My singular complaint is that for my set of crutches, another eigth or quarter inch of interior play in size of the arm pad would have made installation over the frame a bit easier. Regardless, a very worthwhile investment.

These are good but very hard to put on. If you do not have much strength, you will not be able to put the top pieces on, as it is a very tight fit, which means it has to be stretched and that would be tough for some. The handle pieces make it too hard to grip the crutches, so those are useless. Overall, I feel like the product is good for the underarm part of the crutches. It looks and feels better than just a towel wrapped around the crutches.
