This accessory kit is awesome. However, I find that the padding for the underarm portion of the crutches are not very helpful in decreasing the amount of discomfort I feel in both of my shoulders when using them. It could be that since I have two bad shoulders any amount of pressure cause extreme pain. I love the pouch. It’s great for carrying my keys, wallet, phone, and epi-pen. The downside is that it slides down onto your hand and rubs against your skin which is painful. I created a bolster to place at the base to keep it from sliding and rubbing against my hand. Other that, it a great accessory to have.

This is a product review. Just stick with me lol. My brain sometimes goes on staycations. It doesn't leave it's hometown but its definitely not home. Keep that in mind. A bit long but hey, I think it's funny, albeit a bit disturbing. So the ladies at work were chit-chatting and came up on the topic of the extra fabric in women's underwear.... What is it for? I said Oh. I know this one. It's a pocket. They asked what could possibly go in that pocket.... without missing a beat and with a straight face I said... Snacks. It's just big enough to fit one chickie nuggie and a packet of ketchup. The reactions and subsequent convo what pretty epic/hilarious. That conversation happened right before my surgery to remove hardware from my ankle. Fast forward, I had the surgery and I'm currently on crutches. I bought the padded arm and handpieces that came with a pocket thing you attach under the handpieces. Bonus. It's not easy carting around things when your hands are otherwise occupied and anyone who has ever needed crutches can tell you just how uncomforatble it can get. Again, my brain clocks out occasionally so on the day I was to return to work I realized I had forgotten to put all the new gear on my crutches. I rushed and put on everything but left the pocket off. (Time crunch) I worked all week with just the pads which helped tremendously with the pain and bruising that usually occur. Weekend rolls around and I finally attached the pocket because I remembered it existed. The crutch pocket is a great idea. Its made of not the cheapest but also not the most high end material. It does tend to slide down as you crutch along. Anyways, I got donuts one day. I ate one. I put another in (wrapped up 🙄) in my cool new crutch pocket and forgot about it for a while because I got busy. I sit for a few, get settled and think man I'm hungry. I remember said donut and reached for it. Then immediately had the thought that it's a pretty cool pocketses and then immediately after that had the thought that yeah the crutch pocket is cool but not as cool as the crotch pocket because at least the crotch pocket can keep your food warm. So maybe adding somewhere to put a hot/cold pack without taking away from storage space and fixing the sliding down issue could earn this product 5 out of 5. I mean if you did, one could fit/keep warm a whole 10 piece nuggie with whatever sauce they want. Just some thoughts. Overall, I love the product.

I wish I had found these Vive crutch accessories sooner! The pads are incredibly soft and cushion my arms, making crutch use much more comfortable. These replace the armpit cushions. There are two different pieces of foam to make the hand cushions the right size. I needed to use the small pieces of foam. The bag was so helpful. I am a school teacher so it carried a cards, two lanyards with keys, and a water bottle. The only thing I struggled with wasn’t my Coke from McDonald’s.

This is my first time purchasing crutch pads. I was non weight bearing for a few months last summer and had to have another knee surgery last month and am on crutches again for at least 6 weeks. My arms get pretty tired after crutching around all day. I've heard that forearm crutches are much easier on the body but I didn't want to spend too much and just got these pads to try using on the crutches I already have. The pads are pretty plush and comfy. It was a little difficult to get the armpit pads on over the rubber pads that are already on the crutches but I was able to do it with some patience. If you are using crutches correctly, the tops of the crutches should never come into contact with your armpit and there should be at least 2 fingers of space in between. Now I know that being on crutches can be very tiring and I have been guilty of letting my weight rest on the armpits when I'm trying to do something with my hands or if I slouch over when standing for a bit too long. This is very dangerous as over time you damage the nerves running through your arm. These pads are helpful in providing a bit more cushioning for the times when it does happen. The hand grip pads are good. The nonslip texture looks different than what is advertised and they shipped them with an extra piece of foam that you can remove. Those pads were also a big tight to get on, it helps if you flip the crutches over and compress the pad as much as you can and try to snag one end of the velcro and then work your way through the rest of it. The bag is very disappointing. Not only does it only fit a specific style of crutch, but it also only works for certain configurations of the crutches. In order for this bag to be useful it should be attached to the widest parts of the crutch. My crutches are adjusted so that the hand grips are only a few inches above the part of the crutch that starts tapering down because I have longer arms. Because of this, the pouch was reduced to the shape of a cone when installed correctly. I left the bottom two attachment straps very loose and was able to squeeze my 0.6L Camelback Eddy into the larger pouch. Please note that Vive sells a set of their crutch pads without the bag for $18.99, so buy those and save yourself the $5 to put towards one of the other crutch bags/caddies you'll find on here.
