Quality - Great Thickness of Hand & Shoulder Pads - Great Hand/Wrist Protection - Great Fit on Top of Shoulder and Hand Grips - Great The padding for the hand grips fits very well and is also very comfortable. I can’t feel the hard plastic of the crutch’s grip at all. The pad wraps around the grip and is fastened with Velcro. They’re not coming off any time soon! At first, I wasn’t sure of the padding that fits on top of the crutches. The padding rests on top of the crutch versus fitting over the top of the crutch. The fabric that extends onto the crutch itself is snug and fastens with Velcro. So far, the padding has stayed in place on top of the crutch and I’ve not had to keep moving it back in place. It’s very comfortable and under my arms is not sore.

So I took a tumble and needed to use crutches. I thought it was going to be just a couple weeks, but we are now at 10 weeks and still going. After a few days, my hands were so sore from bearing my weight that it was almost matching the pain in my knee. I ordered these, thought it was probably going to be a waste of money, but if it helped my hands for even a few days, it was worth it to me. 10 weeks later, I am so grateful I bought these! Having said that, a few things I noted: 1) Using crutches properly means that there is space between the top of the crutch and your armpit. You should never be using your armpits to support your weight. This means that the armpit pad is really not as necessary as the hand grips, but I added them for the occasional times when I would relax into the crutches while standing around. The significant padding on those armpit pads meant that we had to adjust the length of the crutches down a step. If you add these pads, make sure to readjust the crutches accordingly. 2) The hand grips are where the pressure really is, and the padding on these is fairly minimal. Definitely better than going without any padding at all, but it would be nice if they were a little thicker. I also struggle with the velcro fastener working its way around and getting into uncomfortable positions. Just a minor annoyance, really, but it does mean that every time I use the crutches, I have to take a few extra seconds to get those in the right place or my hands will pay for it. 3) They get dirty! I've learned so much about accessibility through this experience, and one major challenge for me is public restrooms. I am not a germophobe, by any means, but I ALWAYS wash my hands after using the restroom, and I hate having to use my unwashed hands on my crutches to get to the sink, and then my wet hands to navigate to the towel dispenser that is invariably several feet away from the sink. This is by no means a comment on the product here, as they have no control over any of this, but it is something to consider that these need to be cleaned regularly. Had I known that I would be on the crutches this long and that I would need to wash the pads this often, I would have bought an extra set so that I can still use the crutches while they are drying. Honestly, the armpit pads are fine, it's just the hand grips that need to be washed regularly. My suggestion to the manufacturer would be to consider selling this set with an extra set of hand grips for just this purpose. Definitely glad I got these, and they have made the life with crutches a little more bearable, but I do think there is room for improvement.

These have made recovering from knee surgery much easier. They cushion the crutches and make them much more bearable. I did have to remove one layer of padding on the handle covers to make them fit. Buy them. You won’t regret it

The cushions for the underarms are very awkward. They don't sit on top of the crutch pads easily, they tend to sit on top of the pad. They do, however, provide a nice comfort against my arms. The hand grips come with different size pads, which is great. People with smaller hands will appreciate that feature. The covering is durable and washable.
