Thes are a very fancy and attractive pair of sneakers. They are certain to cause onlookers to do a double take. Yes, they are that fancy! They are quite comfortable up front around the toe area. But I find that the tough plasticky sole hugs the mid-section of my foot and makes me wonder if it won't become uncomfortable after extended wearing. When I came across the listing for these Vivay men’s shoes, there were 2 descriptions in the headline that got my attention – “Slip On” and “Lightweight Breathable.” They are lightweight and breathable, with primarily a mesh upper. But I disagree with the claim that these are slip on shoes, as if you can just step into them like a certain name brand has introduced fairly recently. You need to use both hands to pull these shoes on, one to pull the heel up and one to hold the tongue so it doesn’t get pushed into the shoe. In the product page pictures, the laces looked to me like they were decorative, just for show, since these were supposed to be ‘slip on’ shoes, but they are full laces. I do like the rubber outsoles on these shoes. They look a bit strange or futuristic but they provide pretty good cushioning. The same cannot be said of the insoles. They are basically thin, flat foam inserts that offer no arch support to speak of. In my opinion, these Vivay shoes are suitable for casual wear but do not provide the necessary support for walking, running or physical training. I'm hopeful that the more I wear these they will begin flex more, if they do, I might add a star. However, so far I find them very good looking and like the fact that you can slip them on without breaking the back--that is a big plus. However, the bottom of the shoe, while it has pretty good traction, is quite stiff. The shoe simply does not bend as well and most shoes I own, and you think with all of the openings it would. Odd?! Also, they call this a slip on, but don't think this means hands-free. You need to hold the tongue and pull up on the back. What you don't have to do it to tie and untie it. Finally, I have have quite flat feet and substitute high-quality insoles in all of my shoes, so this is not an issue for me personally, but the insoles that come with these shoes are worthless! They are thin (about the thickness of maybe 3 credit cards) and have an arch that curves up about as much as your thumbnail. They literally have virtually no curve. I can't imagine anyone being happy with the insoles, even if they don't have flat feet. ... show more

I can see that they may not endure rigorous usage or prolonged durations of high-impact exercises, even though they have held up well throughout my walks and short workouts. I do a great deal of walking so when I noticed these sneakers were promoted as "walking shoes," I was interested enough to order them. The shoes have a lattice style sole which I have seen online before but have never actually owned a pair. The shoes, according to the listing, are also designed to be slip-on. The shoes do fit according to size. I am a size ten and the fit was perfect. I don't find them as easy to slip on as my usual pair of slip-on shoes, but others may find it easier to do than I do. For myself I will be using a shoehorn. Slipping them off is not an issue. In use, these shoes are extremely comfortable, and I have already walked miles in them. I like them enough that they will definitely be my "go to" shoes for walking from now on. The shock absorbing the soles do is very good indeed. Overall, if you do a lot of walking whether it's for exercise or just everyday use, I recommend you try this pair of shoes by Vivay. ... show more

I’m not sure I love the way these look, and my kids kind of rolled their eyes at them.. but.. I have never worn more comfortable sneakers ever. Sneakers always require some form of breaking in period, but not these. I put the sneakers on as soon as I open them and did not take them off for hours. I wore them hiking the second day I had them and my feet I have never felt better after a hike. Maybe it is the way the bottoms of these shoes are made, as I’ve never owned sneakers with this type of sole, but I honestly love walking in these shoes! I wish they came in more feminine colors. Seems to me that every pair of shoes/boots I buy nowadays have the laces already laced in place but in a way that I don't like them. Must be a new trend or something. But either way.
