    • I would be shocked if this was actually cedar
This is a very soft and lightweight wood. It looks and feels like a soft pine that has been stained to look like cedar (and perhaps treated with a cedar oil for aroma). The fragrance is strong when you first open the box but fades quickly. The wood is soft and splits easily when you screw pieces together. It's soft and lightweight, which leads me to believe it's a rapid growth plantation tree like pine. It splintered easily at the corners and was much lighter on the interior than the surface, so it's definitely stained to look like cedar. I also dont think its FSC certified. I did not see an FSC certificate nor was there a chain of custody number provided anywhere with the shipment. No COC, no FSC. I don't think it's worth what I paid for it, its not made of heavy, sturdy, solid pieces. Example, the lateral pieces acros the top are not single pieces, but rather 3 smaller pieces bolted together. If we're lucky, the vegetation/flowering vines that grow on this arbor will hold it together over time. I would caution anyone else to look for something of a higher quality or build it yourself. ... show more

The color was perfect. My son-in-law and grandson put it together easily in about 3 or 4 hours. I used it as a gateway to my Zen garden and I am very pleased with the way it looks. It seems sturdy, but only time will tell about that.

I really almost never write reviews but this deserves a solid 5 stars from me. The arbor arrived in two boxes which were both delivered earlier than expected. It took my husband and I less than two hours to assemble without any difficulty and very clear instructions. The finished product is sturdy and looks great in my yard. We’ve had two really significant storms since we put it up a couple of weeks ago and it hasn’t budged even an inch. I’ve been recommending it to everyone who compliments us on it. You need a hand when putting this arbor together. It made my backyard look %100 more beautiful, well worth it 😊 You need a bunch of tools that’s not included.

Love the quality of the craftsmanship. The arbor went together seamlessly and fit perfectly together. Love the smell of the fresh wood. It’s the perfect size for the area we needed and will be a great base for our memorial garden. Thank you for such quality product! We bought this for a small family wedding that we are having in our backyard. The size is perfect. The product was easy to assemble, all the pre-drilled holes aligned well and it looks great! I especially appreciated the extra screws/bolts that were provided.
