3.5 STARS! The H has been talked about very little in the previous stories of the series. The flow from the sister's stories and the owners of the Den seemed disjointed. Even though part of a series, is a stand alone. I did like the H/h and we discover when a child the H had lung problems. Because his last episode was when he was with a women, 10 years ago, he is scared to make his marriage real. Even though several people told him the h's father would do anything to show the marriage wasn't a true marriage. He still held back having relations with his wife. The H always was very physical in running and chopping wood with no episodes. Plus the doctors told him he was cured. I felt sorry for the h in his reasonings. She had a beautiful spirit and was also a beautiful women who was treated badly by her father. There is lovemaking (finally) within marriage, heat level 4 out of 5. A nasty villain, some twists, no cheating, no cliffhanger, an epilogue 1 year in the future, and steam. Ended at 90% on my e-reader. (ljb) ... show more

I loved these books and Tammy Andresen’s writing style. I read book 7 and continued until I finished book 15. Yes you could read them alone, but I loved reading them right after each other because I felt like I was in the story and reading about friends. I read these 9 books within a week, and it was the week before Christmas so you know I was busy, but I wanted to continue. ... show more

Will he let his fears hold him from living his life fully ... I confess I expected this book would be the story of , the cousin of the previous books’ heroine’s. Even if I now remember the last book gave an inkling of the next book to come. The heroine was so a new character, a kind of Cinderella abused by her villain of a father, until a knight in rather shining armor steps in and rescues her. So she will have to get to know and trust this stranger who has suddenly become the most important person in her life. Austin has by his sole will build his mind and body to be strong enough to resist the illness that devoured him when he was a child and a young. Yet he is still controlled by the nightmares of this time, scared to relive the worst moments of his life, why he lives his emotions frugally. I understand his fears even if now they are behind. But having been a sickly kid my whole childhood, I grasp his anxiety as intense emotions or a good fright can in a blink of an eyes triggers an asthma attack. Their romance is sweet and easy once they share their struggles and worries. 4.5 stars 𝗦𝘁𝗲𝗮𝗺 𝗹𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗹 onscreen foreplays and lovemaking scenes. ... show more

    • Beautiful love story

This was one of the better stories. I know that I was a surprise in 1938 when I was conceived as my Dad surfered with Asthma too and I was born in ‘39. I had spells of asthma and still take medicine for it.

These two interesting main characters screamed for a longer book. It was only 100 pages with the remainder being a preview of the next book. It is not a bad book, but it had potential for much better.

MS. Andersen writes a good story, but I'm beginning to think some of these Lords have more of a reputation than really have the problems. Not that I'm complaining just trying to understand how they can be scandalous and keep doing good works. They are rather studley.

I liked this book of Austin and Gabriella. It shows that there are some fathers out there abuse their daughters, be it physically or emotionally. I'm glad her father got what was coming to him, and for murdering his wife. I highly recommend this book. 👍👍👍👍❤❤❤❤
