Doctor suggested Vionics sneakers but I did not want to spend a ton on them since I don't usually wear them. Ordered these because of the price point. I was not expecting to like them. When they arrived, I was surprised that I did not mind the design. They are slip on sneakers with shoelaces for look only. They do not make me feel like I'm wearing giant clunky clown shoes. They are super lightweight. I miss cushy sneakers; these are not stiff but not soft either. Ordered a 6.5 and they fit fine, not tight at all, can wear socks. Overall happy with this purchase.

I have been suffering with acute Plantar Fasciitis for 6 months. I've had 4 injections, was put in a boot for a month, and am currently in physical therapy 2 days a week. PT was my last option before "surgery", so I jumped on it. After a month in PT I did find it helpful, but still suffered with the pain when I would walk long. BTW... I was used to walking 5 miles a day, along with going to the gym 4-5 days a week before this happened to my foot. So I was very active until this happened to me. My PT Dr suggested that I buy a pair of Vionic shoes. The ones that I've seen in the past were pretty ugly, and I wasn't keen about the idea. But after thinking about it for a week or so I decided that these were not so bad. I got the purple ones, and they are exactly the same color as pictured. Although they look like a tie up shoe, they are not. They are a slip in shoe which some people may need a shoe horn to put them on. I don't. The day that I recevied them I immediatly put them on and started to walk, and I'll be darned if I didn't notice a difference within the first few steps. GAME CHANGER!!! I have only had them 6 days and have worn them every day. Today my PT thought I was doing so good that she cancelled my other appointment this week, and wants to see me next week to see how I do for a week without therapy. If I'm good, she is ready to let me go! Woo hoo!!! What a long process this has been. Anyone who suffers from this condition, I feel for you, and the reason for my post. The only reason I am giving it 4 stars is because I think the shoe would be PERFECT if they added a little extra padding to the heel. I know that if it had padding I would be well in less time. Other than that these shoes have been a God send. NOTE: Make sure that you check and see if you can return your shoes for a full refund before you order, just in case you need to return for some reason. Because I ordered a pair of Vionic sandals on here, and had to return because of the fit, and although I received a refund, it was not put back onto my credit card. I was given it in the form of Amazon crtedit. Good luck to all of your Plantar sufferers, and I hope that you find relief from your pain.

These shoes are attractive, but they have a "fake" lacing system, which makes them hard to put on if you have a high arch, like I do. I am tempted to cut them to make them easier to put on. The arch support is not like other Vionics that I have.
