Having read about jars with poor quality lids and even some with that were painted and not made from colored glass, I spent more time searching for food grade UV jars than I expected. I am glad that my purchase of these jars paid off. While the glass is made from two pieces, the seams are small and precise. The lids are of equal high quality, strong and sturdy, and even come with a cap to help seal the contents and separate it from the lid. After seeing a favorite minimalist use these for her spices, I decided to order them. I like the ability to use a tablespoon without having the narrowness of typical spice jars. I was concerned about the actual size which states in the write up for the 4oz jar measuring 4” x 4”. How can that be? I was very happy to find they measure 2 1/2” tall and 2 1/4” diameter.
