This violin looks very nice and I was excited to get it for my granddaughter. She’s learning to play. The knobs do not keep the strings tight. We’ll have to tape them so they don’t move. That’s a bit tacky but she needs this instrument and is very excited to learn to play it. It will have to do for now. If I had time, I’d return it and purchase something better

It’s great for beginners but super sad that the straps broke because that’s the reason we got it for my daughter to have it around school all day will now have to look for another case which cost more than a whole new violin

You get a lot of bang for your buck with this violin. Chin rest, bow, rosin, extra strings and a soft case. I was amazed at how beautiful the wood finish is. There was a tiny ding in the finish but easily touched up. The violin is lightweight and so easy to purchase. I remember trying to rent a violin for my daughter when she was first learning. I paid more for a rental than what this cost. So convenient! You do have to put the bridge in place. It is clearly marked where to place it ( Look for notches). A video on Amazon shows how to do it. Just make sure to loosen the strings before. Then tighten strings a little at a time as to keep the bridge from shifting. I was pleasantly surprised to see a humidity detector built into the case. Let the music begin!

The media could not be loaded. This is a great first violin! I’ve never played before and getting this set up and trying out a song wasn’t as hard as I expected. I do have a lot of music training so playing by ear is going well so far. I like the sound of this violin and I’m looking forward to playing more. I did look up videos on setting up a new violin and used my tuner app to get the strings in tune. Like any stringed instruments, getting it to stay in tune takes some time and the violin needs to be tuned and retuned frequently until the strings relax. I do wish the violin had come with instructions for setting it up so that I wouldn’t need to do so much research to get started and make sure I was doing it correct. I’m having so much fun!

I was given this violin to review it. I am a guitar player and decided to try violin about 5 years ago. The frustrations of my first violin are still fresh so i hope this review helps someone. This is a good looking violin and comes in a very sturdy case. the things that set this apart from other starter violins are: It comes with 2 sets of decent strings. Most inexpensive violins come with horrible strings, the rosin is better than average which helps a new player make his first sounds, the tuning keys fit nice and snug and tuned up without have to pull them and rosin them up, the fine tuners work smoothly and have a good range, and the bow was decent, decent balance and not shedding hair. The only things negative I have are that I wish it came with 2 bridges and that the case could fit the violin a little snugger. If you are looking for a starter violin this is an excellent choice.

Let me begin by telling you that I have been playing violin for 45+ years. I own several violins, both electric and acoustic. Based on that experience, I would recommend this instrument to any beginning student (adult or child). I was able to easily slide the bridge into position, apply rosin to the bow, tune and play the instrument. The violin is well made using good materials. The bow is of good quality and felt good and comfortable . The instrument can produce a lovely tone with nice sustain. The seams and joints are clean and assembled sturdily. It comes with a nice protective case with hygrometer, rosin and an extra set of strings. This instrument would also be a good platform for someone who might like to install a pickup and controls. For a sub-$100 instrument, I am very impressed. A very nice budget instrument! Also, the instrument arrived quickly and was well packaged. I would recommend. Thank you!
