  • An great choice for our daughters first instrument.
Color: yellow
This is an excellent violin! We got this for our daughter who is trying to learn it. Our pastors daughter has been given her pointers and plays it for us, and it has an excellent sound. She says it's a perfect starter violin. The most important thing was that our 9-year-old daughter likes it. Being a musician myself I know it's important to like how an instrument feels because it becomes an extension of who you are, and I think this instrument has done that for our kiddo. ... show more

  • Nice-looking VSO
Color: yellow
This seems to be a nice-looking example of what violin teachers call a VSO. It's nice that it has everything you need to start playing: instrument, bow (plus an extra), rosin, chinrest, etc. The bow is heavier and not as well-balanced as that of my 'real' violin. Also, on the instrument I received the bridge was not set up for playing. I had to do some shaping and setting to make it playable. This instrument might be good if you want to try out playing a bowed instrument without spending too much money. It makes a good second fiddle to have around, but consult a violin teacher first if your child is just starting out. You will need help from an experienced violinist to set this one up. ... show more
