  • Works great for a different purpose
Color: Green Size: 50 Gallon
UPDATE - I'm raising my rating from 4 stars to 5. We used this multiple times over the summer and it fit the need perfectly. It has shown no signs of failure and that is with the understanding that it is moved constantly - taken up and reset for each camping location. ORIGINAL - I am not using this product in its intended use, but still using it as a water retention device. For my use, it is doing a great job. Here's the deal... I love to camp. I love dispersed camping in my home state of West Virginia. I have a small, popup camper. Where I live we have a LOT of rivers, streams and creeks. I hate lugging around jugs of water, so after watching a few Australian youtubes, I decided to copy them, but I wanted to have a collapsible water tank. This does the trick. Here is how this works... I have an old, 12v water pump. I drop an intake line, that only uses a screen filter, into the flowing water. There are no farms or industries upstream from where I camp. The pump then pulls from the water source and first pushes it through a 1 micron whole house filter. That then moves into this collapsible tank by way of a 100' garden hose. I make a setup location that is level for the tank. I fill it to about the 25 to 30 gallon mark. I then drop in the required amount of chlorine bleach, as determined by the EPA, CDC and NIH, and mix thoroughly to purify from bacteria. It sits for an hour. I test the pH and chlorine amount using a chemical test strip. If all numbers are fine, then I pump it out of the tank and into my 5 gallon water tanks. This water is not for drinking, but used for showers, cooking and washing. This system will NOT remove toxins or chemicals, but does make the water safe for consumption. So, this tank is an important part of the system, it folds up easily, it stands perfectly and does its job as a intermediate holding tank for water purification in the wild. Now, I only bring along a single 5 gallon prefilled water jug, plus bottled water for drinking and 3 collapsible 5 gallon jugs for my river water. ... show more

  • Used and punctured, with missing spigots, unusable and beyond repair
Color: Green Size: 100 Gallon
Arrived used with missing spigots. Never postpone unpacking - I wish I did it sooner! Our barrel arrived used with clear signs of wear on the bottom of the footing - plastic pads are severely scratched, and worn. In the side of the barrel, closer to the top there is a hole, which was cut out for additional drainage by a previous user - the hole is approximately the same diameter as the rest but is an imperfect circle. In theory it could still be used for the fittings, if they were in the package. But unfortunately it came without the spigots or plugs. So currently, keeping in mind that there are three holes in the sides of the barrel, one of which is meticulously located right at the bottom of the barrel, makes the whole thing unusable. Very disappointing, ... show more

  • Partial tip over and leaks after 3 weeks
Color: Green Size: 66 Gallon
Probably lost a 1/4 tank when my 2/3 full 60 gallon tipped over Found it wasn't full because of 1/8" hole in the side😕 Rolled up my sleeves and put a dab of Henry Wet Patch Roof Leak Repair tar on the inside and outside. 🤞 Love the concept because we freeze much of the year and Im assuming the vinyl will hold up to about an inch of ice. 🤷♀️ ... show more

  • Written directions require an engineer. Pole assembly directions incomplete.
Color: Green Size: 100 Gallon
The assembly direction words are pretty "iffy," but the *incomplete* directions for the poles and poles' connecting caps, even in the drawings, produced a very, very frustrating experience. Even with engineer brains, this assembly continued to be a challenge. Took hours to figure out, try, and then actually do successfully. ... show more

  • Compared to similar barrel from EBay.
Color: Green Size: 50 Gallon
The media could not be loaded. The one that’s full in my video is from EBay i got it a few months ago for $27. I’m sure these are all from the same plant in China and are just sold by different vendors and brands, quality feels the same, neither feels cheap. My older one didn’t leak at all the only thing I would add to the previous is the top support like the new one I just got. No rain forecasted here any time soon but I did pour 5 gallons of water and it didn’t leak. If I could combine the 2 into one it would be perfect a barrel with top support, a sight to see exactly how many gallons you have, and a spigot half way up as well as the bottom one. Once I get some heavy enough rain I’ll come back and update this review but so far I’ll give it 5 stars for quality. ... show more

  • I have two of these, both work as expected
The people having issues with this product I can only assume are using this in an area where the ground is soft or not flat... or both. I can see anybody having a huge problem with these if they fill up and are in a situation where they can begin to even slightly tip over. We're talking about a lot of water and weight here and if these were to get lopsided and tip you can pretty much kiss this product and anything else in the general area goodbye in under ten seconds of pure regret you will never forget. I've got two of them, both 66 gallons, both set up on level cement. I've had them now for over a month and are almost always topped off with water and so far I can't even see how I might run into issues with these. They work as I expect them to and I can't see how these might even rip or be a problem aside from just absolute negligence on my part. I was really hesitant to buy these because of the negative reviews, but after receiving them and setting them up it was pretty clear to me right away that those complaining about this set these up in a foolish way that defies common sense. If you're going to be using these the way I am-- on sturdy ground and a flat surface, these will do the trick and you will see these are very sturdy when full as long as that criteria is met. Anything other than that you're only asking for trouble. These are flexible bins not solid plastic or wood, so use your brain before you purchase and don't set these up on the side of a mountain or on top of a pit of spikes and these will perform as expected. I am pretty happy with my purchase these are priced really well and they do the job. ... show more
