picked up the Viking Revolution 8 Pack Solid Cologne for Men and I’m impressed. Each scent has earthy tones, works for everyday use. For the price, you get quite a bit of variety, and I like how each one works as a great accent scent—perfect to pair with my regular cologne and deodorant without clashing. The fragrances are light, not overpowering, yet they hold up fairly well throughout the day. I’m happy with how long they last considering their subtle nature. Overall, I’m content with my purchase. I’ve tried other Viking Revolution products before and they’re all solid, so I trust the brand. These are good for personal use, but would also make an excellent gift. I’ll definitely be buying again.

This Viking Revolution 8 Pack Solid Cologne for Men - (0.5 Oz each) is an interesting sampler pack of solid cologne. It comes with 8 small tins of waxy product each labeled with a different scent. I personally would only use a few of these for myself, but I think that the sampler still provides good value for testing out the different aromas and figuring out if any of them works for you. The application is by rubbing a finger or applicator sponge in the product and then transferring it to the skin. A push-up tube or twist up tube like lip balm tube would be easier, but this approach works OK even though it isn't quite as efficient. The box is labeled with date of manufacture and expiration date and declares "GMP" manufacturing and not tested on animal certifications. Here is my experience with each scent: Sandalwood - Very little sandalwood aroma, mostly smells sweet with a hint of vanilla. This is a big disappointment to me because I love sandalwood, but this one lacks the normal punch of sandalwood. Vetiver - I like this one. Reminds me very much of "Old Spice" brand cologne. Probably my favorite of this assortment. Spiced vanilla - extremely sweet and cloying. Reminds me more of a strong scented candle or air freshner. This is my least favorite. Bergamot - Slight menthol and mint more than Earl Grey tea, this one is nice enough but I wish it had more citrus notes. Majestic oud - To me this one smells more like Cedar and Bergamot than either of the dedicated scents. My third favority. Sweet tobacco - Another sweet candle scent. I cannot detect any unburned tobacco odor in this. The ingredients bear this out containing Almond oil, Jojoba and Bergamot, but no tobacco. Cedar & Pine - I expected to like this one but ended up disliking it. More pinesol than cedar chest, this is another that I wouldn't use for myself. Clary sage - My second favorite. The aroma of fresh sage comes through without any other scents confusing the nose. While some of these do smell different from each other, there is more overlap between them than I hoped. I wish they had included more distinctive scents like musk, juniper, cinnamon, frankincense, or patchouli. Many of these contain Argan, Bergamot, and Coconut oil which dilutes the namesake scents more than enhances them. Because of this, there isn't much point in mixing the scents which is too bad, because with a bit tweaking, they could have encouraged mixing the different scents and given the consumer even more choices.

The media could not be loaded. This is a beautifully presented set of high quality solid perfumes packaged in sleek slide tins that feel fun and gift-worthy. The set arrives in a box that includes eight different fragrances, a decorative sticker, and even a coupon for a future purchase (at least currently). Each tin holds 0.5 oz of fragrance balm, which is a generous amount compared to many other solid fragrance options. The formulas themselves are smooth and easy to apply. Because these are wax based perfumes, they soften quickly against body heat, so I wouldn't recommend keeping them in a pocket or warm bag where they might melt. They would be great for airport travel days, though. To apply, you can use a fingertip or small tool to scoop a bit and warm it on pulse points. Unlike a spray fragrance, these are more intimate, skin close scents, perfect for date nights or anyone who prefers subtle projection rather than a room filling perfume cloud. Performance is excellent for a solid perfume. On me, most of the fragrances last around five hours, which is longer than other solid scents I've tried, and they wash off easily when desired. The throw remains close to the body, but I was impressed by how consistently I could smell them on my skin. The variety in this collection is fun and covers a wide range of preferences: Spiced Vanilla is sweet and cozy, with coconut-vanilla gourmand warmth. Bergamot was my surprise favorite: fruity, green, and slightly creamy instead of just sharp lemon. Sandalwood is soft, powdery woods. Sweet Tobacco is rich and cigar-like, evocative of a tobacco shop. Majestic Oud is dark woods with clove spiciness. Clary Sage is a whole lot of sage, slightly medicinal and biting. Vetiver has an earthy, masculine aftershave style. And Cedar & Pine is sharp, resinous pine that unfortunately reminds me of those tree shaped car fresheners. Overall, this is a well curated set of solid fragrances with good variety. It makes a great gift for fragrance lovers, travel (no liquids!), or anyone who enjoys layering scents. The quality, variety, and presentation make it a strong value, even if some individual scents won't be everyone's style.
