I'm an appliance repairman and I come across really weird installations all the time. This lets me lift a fridge up and hold it there if I need to adjust to feet. I saw an oven last week that was mounted on blocks. I was easily able to slide it back onto them. I've only had it a few weeks but I would say it is a worthwhile tool to own. This tool is awesome. Amazing power and damage free use. I purchased server knock-off's (Chinese made) that are not worth the trip to the dumpster. They are total junk. Here’s what you need to know: 1. This one is more expensive than the others, but there’s a reason for that. It prevents heavy and delicate furniture from damage by enabling a slow and controlled lowering mechanism. If you raised it too high, you can lower it with no issues. 2. There is 1 per box. The cheaper versions I tried were flimsy and dangerous. Don’t do it! Not sure why these are so pricey, except that they’re made in Norway (or Sweden or Denmark). Anyway, I’m glad I have them. I bought 2.

I put off buying a pair of these for a good while due to the price, but after multiple reviews of cheap imitations I decided to take the plunge. Wish I had bought them sooner. Get them - you won't regret it. These are high quality tools, not toys. Nothing else needs to be said.

    • A little spandy but a solid unit
I've been using a rubber air bag with a bladder I could press with my foot for installing slab door replacements when I'm flying solo for a few years. Works reasonably well but can be tricky to get to exactly the right height and it tends to "wobble" on your a bit while you're trying to line the hinge pockets up. I bought this unit after talking myself into it due to the price point - My friend has a cheaper version of a similar product that is horrible and mostly useless. I have to say this unit is really well built, very heavy duty and I used it to install 5 interior slab door replacements this week and it was perfect for the job. Super precise going up and down, holds the door solidly. I'll certainly use it for other things as it's earned a coveted spot on my van's regular tool rotation. ... show more

Unfortunately, it arrived without screws or a manual. The manual is available on line, and I had 5mm, flat head screws, but a quick inspection before shipping might have caught the missing parts.
