  • Bright & Clear
Style: 32-Inch 1440p
I upgraded my monitor when I upgraded my computer. This viewsonic lets me see my documents in detail without squinting or getting closer. It also came with speakers! It provides option for splitting the screen and lets me move readily between documents/websites. The price was right and this product was a smart investment. ... show more

  • The 2K Version is still Awesome!
Style: 32-Inch 1440p
I saw a lot of product reviews talking about a 4K monitor and being disappointed that the display didn't actually go up to that resolution but this is the the 2K version. I'm still VERY impressed with the picture quality so far even though it's not full 4K. Honestly, even if I had a 4K display, I'd probably tune it down to 2K since it still looks amazing and allows games to run more smoothly. UPDATE: 2-months later and this monitor is still amazing. I like it VERY much for gaming and even general office use. The colors are so vivid and the picture is incredibly sharp. No regrets! I feel like my new Google Pixelbook i7 has a fantastic display and this relatively inexpensive monitor was pretty close except on a MUCH larger display. I've played Ark: Survival and Fortnite (UPDATE: I played Devil My Cry 5 on ultimate video settings which looks AMAZING too!) on it so far and it makes me wonder how I ever managed with my other wimpy 19" monitor. The colors are very vivid and the picture is really clear right out of the box. I was able to crank the resolution up to 2K from my gaming laptop with both HDMI and VGA connections with no trouble. I'll have to wait to get my new gaming PC before I can test the Display port option. NOTE: The monitor only comes with an HDMI cable. UPDATE: I finally got my new gaming PC and WOW, what a great view. I'm using the display port with no problems. I've had the monitor for a couple of weeks now and I'm seriously tempted to get a second one to create a giant panoramic screen with dual monitors. I've also had ZERO issues with flicker, the display cutting out or getting the display to "wake up". I got the extended warranty just-in-case but it's not looking like I'm going to need it so far. It's a really solid product. Also, there's a little handle that screws into the back of the monitor which looks like a small antenna. Just FYI, that's to hang your headphones/headset on while not in use. I like the fact that I have a place to store my headset that's accessible but also somewhat hidden and out of place. Overall, you can't really beat it for a monitor this size and quality under $300. I guess the only real "con" to this monitor is that the built-in speakers are kinda weak sounding, but, I mean seriously... who is gonna buy a monitor this big for gaming and not either have a decent external speaker setup or use a Dolby 5.1 headset at least? The fact that it has speakers at all is a bonus in my opinion. ... show more

  • How to Brighten Screen of Aging Monitor!
Style: 32-Inch 1440p
I haven't written a lot of Amazon reviews, but really thought this one may be helpful. I bought this monitor in July 2018, so I've had it over 5 years. I use it in a home office. The screen is on at least 12 hours per day, often a couple hours more. About six months ago, the screen appeared noticeably dimmer. I played with the settings and adjusted the brightness to 100% but it made only the slightest difference. I opened Amazon today to start looking for a replacement monitor and something told me to take one more look at the settings. I'm so glad I did! I noticed a ViewMode setting in the menu. Obviously it's always been there but I guess it never registered to check that setting. I'm not sure what setting the monitor was on, but when I selected the "Web" option under ViewMode, the screen became instantly brighter! I managed to buy this monitor for $240 five years ago thanks to a $60 off Lightning Deal! After my recent settings change, it's now brighter than my smaller and more expensive Dell monitor!!! I'll definitely consider ViewSonic the next time I'm in the market for another monitor! ... show more

  • Good low cost option for a 32" 4K display
Style: 32-Inch 4K UHD
Have had the monitor for three days so far. Very satisfied with it as a low cost option to get 4K in a work monitor. I had used ViewSonic CRT monitors in the past but this is my first LCD monitor from them. It replaced a nearly 13 year old, 22", TN panel LCD screen that just did not provide enough working space anymore. I do software coding so game play is not my motivation here. Having a big screen with a stable image is what I need and this monitor provides it. I'm using it with a desktop computer that has a nVIDIA graphics card and a laptop through a USB-C multifunction hub. Both are connected via HDMI cables. Image is good on both with 60Hz refresh and both devices are sending sound through to the monitor. I'm not seeing any stuck or dead pixels, which is always a concern when I get a new monitor. Only giving four stars due to two reasons. First, the built in stand could be better. It is nice that the stand is metal but with the thin fork design it takes up a lot of space. Also, not being height adjustable required finding a riser to get the monitor up a few inches. Again, back to the fork stand, finding a riser that would hold this monitor took extra effort. Fortunately, Monoprice has stand that gives me 3" of lift (and can be adjusted up to about 4") and is wide enough for the monitor base. Next up is the speakers. Considering the size of the lower-back section of the monitor it should be possible to put better speakers in there. The ones on this monitor work but they do sound like a speaker in a tin can. One other note, the on screen display (OSD) is very cumbersome to use. Vertical buttons for horizontal menu options is not intuitive at all. With the years of experience ViewSonic has they should be able to do better. Switching input takes a minimum of four button presses, which is not fun when switching back and forth between computers. Please, just give me a single button to cycle through the inputs like my 10 year old 24" monitor has. As long as you can live with a few compromises, this monitor should serve well. For the price point I don't think you can do any better. ... show more
