The jaws are not parallel and the guide rods are not parallel either. The jaws closes with about 1/32 gap on one side. The guide rods caused the vise to jam when closed all the way in. I got to hammer it out and filed the burrs around the rods to get it move smoother but I would not try to close it all the way in any more. I made 2 wood jaws to offset the jaws not parallel issue to make it useable. I decided to fix the defects instead of returning since I didn’t want to lose another week to return and exchange. ... show more

The vice is super heavy but was packaged very poorly. I’d assume that’s why a piece was broken when I received it. No instructions come with the vice so I do t know if the piece that broke off is important or not. Mounting the vice is pretty straight forward though you don’t get any mounting hardware so be prepared to buy your own. The quick release works but it seems to get stuck and then the crank doesn’t work. It’s nice…but could be better ... show more

Spring won't stay in place. Pain in the neck. Going to have to modify it to remedy the problem. As usual, you get what you pay for. Have to put in the work to make up the difference.

It’s very finicky. Sometimes it gets stuck and it won’t unclamp. I don’t know if this is what a speed set is supposed to be like.
