I bought this tool for my first metalworking project – building a cargo rack for my motorcycle. On my first try, I skipped the manual (who reads it anyway) and ruined a piece of pipe. But after that quick lesson, my second attempt went perfectly. I used it to bend 1/2" x 1/16" steel tubing, which is probably at the upper limit of what this tool is designed for. Still, it handled the job with ease and bent the tubing with impressive precision. For the price, this tool is an absolute steal. It delivers great performance without breaking the bank. Highly recommended for any DIYer or beginner getting into metalwork!

I bought this to make a piece of tubing for an air compressor. While it worked quite well at bending the tubing, it did have some small flaws that needed to be addressed before I used it again. A plus point not shown in the product page is that it has presets for the pipe hook for the different pipe sizes. That made this an equal with the other bender I looked at but much less expensive. The flaws were that there were some small nibs in the tubing channels where the molds came together. These made some small marks in the tubing I bent. In this instance not an issue, but for some cases those nicks would have made the pipe a flawed part and wasted material. Using some small files and other tools I smoothed out the flaws in those areas and it should work perfectly now. Those flaws reduced the 5 star to 4, but they can be fixed easily enough for the price savings. Also doesn't mean the more expensive tool doesn't have the same problem. I would buy this tool again and recommend it as it works quite well.

This tubing bender was not cheap. I was using this to bend 1/2" stainless thin-wall fuel line. On the third bend, the tube clamp hook broke in two. Upon further examination, it appears that this critical small part is only made of cast aluminum, instead of steel, which would explain how fragile it was. The tool is now useless. I cannot recommend this tool to anyone, and I suggest you spend a few more dollars and purchase a higher quality tubing bender which is more rugged and durable. What makes this worse is that the first use for this happened 6-weeks after I purchased it, so it is outside Amazon's return window...

If you're planning on using this for copper PIPES, DON'T. It won't fit, this TUBING bender is made for tubing. People seem to be confused, copper pipes are measured at the I.D. so 1/2" pipes are 1/2" I.D. and is 15.85mm O.D. whereas 1/2" tubing is measured at the OD not ID, 12.7mm OD. If you're looking to bend copper pipes, look for a pipe bender.
