The size is good for my limited work area. Instructions appear to have been written by AI. Could use more precise instructions for first-time users (I'm still figuring out how to use some of the supplied tools). The motor seems powerful enough for the small turning projects it was designed for. I intend to use it for turning pen blanks, bell handles, etc., and I think it will easily do those things.

I have never done any wood turning. However, I just received it and the lathe was very well packed and everything was included. It appears to be in good working order.

I purchased this with the suspicion that I'd be tossing $40 into the wind but thought it'd be worth a gamble. I wanted to turn very small handles (~5in) out of softwood. The very second you apply any kind of pressure the motor is overpowered and stops. Using the tools included I could only just barely touch the cutting surface onto the wood without binding the motor. I was lucky if I produced the tiniest quantity of wood dust. I sharpened both the included tools and my own chisels to see if it helped--it did not. Even lightly holding sandpaper against the wood stopped the motor. No torque, no redeeming qualities whatsoever.
