After reading the reviews for this laminate cutter and its low price, I figured I would still try it and likely return it as not being up to the task of cutting LVP for a 1300 FT SQ flooring project in my rental. Boy, was I pleasantly surprised. This cutter is a beast and cut LVP planks like paper. First thought after unboxing this thing was how this thing could only cost $40 and be so well built. This is not meant for cutting engineered wood flooring or hardwood - you will need a saw. If cutting LVP / SVP (vinyl / plastic plank flooring) - this cutter will save you a ton of time and not blowup your budget. Hands down....this is a 5 star product!!

did the job well once I realized it needed to have pressure on the side to get good clean cuts, blade was in good shape and the mechanism worked well. removing human error made it a perfect tool

I have tried to cut relatively thin stuff: 12mm total. When using with the lever fully extended for maximum leverage it took me about a dozen full thrusts to break through.. but by then the lvp was shredded. Even though i propped up one end with 2x4 plus several lvp samples to reach the correct height and sat with my knees on the sides to steady it and gave full weight I was bringing a knife to a machine gun fight. I'm going to use a table saw and mitre saw to do this going forward: those guys made instant work of the lvp: and they give straight cuts with little chafing. I will get a finer blade for the table saw and then the chafing will probably disappear as well.

I bought it for single use, then gave it away to someone that will need it this winter. The only thing I didn't like was it cracks the tiles at the end of the cuts on the side you don't need anyway, but you'd think the design could be made so it wouldn't at all.

We are using Mohawk flooring which is 10mm thick with a 2 mm pad. This cutter struggles with the horizontal cut (cut is not square). Since those cuts are under the quarter round it’s not a big deal. It will not make a lateral cut with this thickness. It feels like a good quality cutter I would just not recommend for these thicker flooring planks.
