    • Great value except...
This is a very solid shop crane. Good value. Well made. Easy to assemble. Works great except the hydraulic cylinder that raises and lowers the boom is not functioning as expected. It will not hold the load in position for more than 2-3 minutes before it starts to sink. Even light loads end up on the floor after about 20 minutes. Very disappointing. I will take the cylinder to a local shop to have it repaired. ... show more

    • Just take it easy when tightening the hardware
Delivery was a bit of a debacle. It comes in two boxes, and they arrived on separate days. When they got here, the boxes were heavily damaged. This thing is made of heavy steel members, and the thin cardboard didn't have a chance against all that shifting weight during shipping. A few bolts & washers were loosely rolling around inside. By some miracle, I was only missing one lock-washer (and I have plenty of those lying around, so... no big deal). Assembly was simple. If you have an extra pair of hands, two people would help, but I did it alone. Took about 20 minutes. I was using a battery-powered impact to run the bolts tight and accidentally sheared one of the caster bolts. I had to drill that out and fix it... again, not a big deal. Just take it easy when tightening the hardware. They're soft steel, not exactly Grade 8 hardware. Once assembled, it worked very well. I lifted two fully-dressed marine Chevy 350's and an Olds 350 with it so far. Heavy motors, but no problem whatsoever. Folding the crane for storage is pretty easy. Again, it helps to have another pair of hands but it can easily be done alone. The pins come out of the legs, the legs pin in the straight-up position, and it stores neatly in roughly a 2'x2' space in the corner. ... show more

    • Faulty pump.
Unit is functional but the hydraulic pump is faulty it goes down slowly. It’s such a shame that the most important part of the hoist is faulty.
