I have very sensitive skin, especially around the ears. Any pressure on them makes me very uncomfortable. I usually wear clip-on headphones with no band, so that my ears dont hurt, as my ear holes are way too small for earbud style sound devices. However, for gaming and recording, a headset with mic is necessary. These are remarkably lightweight and are not tight on the ears, giving hardly any pressure, and I'm able to wear these for several hours before I need to give my ears a rest. They are easy to adjust on the band, but also stay in one place without slipping while wearing them. Once you put them on your head, they stay put, and and dont slide around. The sound quality to the earphones is terrific. Also the mic delivers superior sound to your streaming or recording without feedback or scratching. The cord is wonderfully long also, and has a velcro strap to loop it back up safely and well-organized. The mic boom swings up and down (vertically, in front of the face for use & out of the way against the headset band for storage), but not short / long, nor closer or away from the face. It's a stiff plastic rod boom that does not shake while in use. But the boom is long enough and angled in the perfect way to be the proper distance away from the mouth to get good sound quality from your speech for any adult's head. I've never had any problem with the stiff boom. I love it exactly where it is. It is in a place where it never feels like it has to be adjusted closer or further from my mouth. Not too close to it and not too far, either. It's in the Goldilocks zone if you ask me. This works fantastic with Hauppauge gaming recorders between console and PC. Just plug the USB 1.0 port into the PC, and the mic jack into the Hauppauge mic input port, then configure the Hauppauge audio input setting to the mic. Then you can adjust input audio for both the headphones and game audio separately. I found that a slightly louder setting for the headset over the game audio produced a better balance between the game sound and my voice. But I have a quiet voice, so that may be the reason I need to adjust that in that specific way. I never get any feedback or scratchy sounds through the mic, unless I'm directly fiddling with the mouthpiece. It doesnt make any noise if you adjust it by the boom. This headset works great for PC and through all major consoles. The good looks and pretty blue glowing lights are just a bonus, compared to the other great features and capabilities this headset has, especially for the low price. Definitely a wise investment for the gamer on a tight budget like myself. ... show more

I love this headset. It worked through my PS4 days and is still being used as an alternate when my wireless set dies on me on my PS5. It is starting to short out now though, but lasted a very long time. The lights are bright and colorful and the sound quality is top notch. The mic is really good too, but make sure you configure your settings as it was quite loud in the beginning. I love the mute on the cord as well works really good.     • Decent headset for a good price, with a silly light up gimmick

7/10/17 Update The headset kicked the bucket the other day, though I'm not sure why. Everything sounds like it's underwater (strangely enough, the game music sounded okay, but I couldn't hear the voices in the game over it). The wires never split or twisted thanks to the braided cord. I used it almost daily though which could have been a contributing factor. I did say in the original review that I intended to buy a different one because it was uncomfortable, but as you can see I procrastinated that until this one gave out. The headset lasted me roughly six months of almost daily use for the 25 dollars I paid for it, so there isn't much to complain about here. I probably won't end up buying this particular model of headset again unless I want to keep one like this as a spare. Overall, this would have been a better product without the light up feature, but that may just be me since Turtle Beach spoiled me on having a USB cable to connect to my PlayStations and a headphone cord I could put in my phone for music, but that may not actually have been the intended use. It's a good headset for a good price. Personally, I have immediate discomfort when putting on the headset, and hurts more the longer I wear it. I don't understand why the USB cord makes the headset light up, because the headset does indeed have the potential to be better, but having it light up from the USB port is just silly. With my last headset (Turtle Beach P11, eventually wore down from the wire twisting and splitting) I was able to use the USB port to connect the headset itself through USB to my PlayStation 4 and use it to hear game and chat audio, while using the headphone jack to plug in my phone or other music player to play music at the same time, but it's sad to see that can't happen with this headset as that would have improved my rating. I haven't used the light up gimmick at all and I don't care for it. Instead of plugging in to the console via USB, the microphone/headphone jack plugs in directly to your controller, but works the same otherwise. The braided cable is very welcome for this headset, as I don't have to worry about the wire twisting and splitting as much as my previous one, and haven't had to worry about the wire at all in about a week of using it. Otherwise, my friends tell me the mic quality is just as good, if not better than the turtle beach P11, and the sound quality for the headphones is just as good. Overall, it's worth the 25 you pay for, but it's likely that the headset itself will cause discomfort or even pain and will need constant readjustments to mitigate, if only for a little while. I'll probably be getting a different headset and just keeping this one as a spare if I can't mitigate the discomfort and pain from wearing it. ... show more
