I ordered this thinking it would be a great bag for a beach vacation. When the Wife saw it, she emptied her purse into it and is using it for her 'everyday' bag. There's a zipper at the top that prevents stuff inside from falling out. There's also a pocket built into the side for smaller items that she may have. The outside of this bag looks like it was woven from a natural material, like straw, and then painted with very artistic sea turtles. The outside color is very 'artistic'...it doesn't look fake or plastic. I'm not sure how they manufactured this material, but it's very sturdy. There's a thin coating both inside and outside of this durable material. It seems like it's going to be very durable. The Wife likes that it's stiff enough to stand upright on the table so she can put things in and take them out easily. I've heard of Vera Bradly...somewhere but had no idea she manufactured things this high quality and durable. The wife is picky about her bags, but she's grabbed onto this with both hands. It makes me happy, well, that she's happy, but the bag also reminds me of our next trip to the beach.

I was instantly drawn to this bag because of the color and sea turtle. The bag is light weight without feeling cheap and holds an impressive amount of stuff. I like that it has a zipper to keep the bag closed and it has a smaller pocket inside to hold little items. The material it’s made from feels durable and it wipes down nicely. The handles are a perfect length to throw over your shoulder or to carry hanging down without it dragging on the ground. I am quite happy with this bag.

I get a lot of free, fabric totes, especially those with an advertising logo on them. I ordered this one because I love Vera Bradley designs, and I love a straw bag for summer. Also, no big advertising logo. (There is a small brand plate applied on one side, but it's not conspicuous.) The straw has a really soft, flexible feel - not stiff at all. I think it will wear well. The inside is lined with a coordinating turtle print fabric, and the edges are bound with tan leather (or faux leather). The straps are just the right length to carry on my shoulder or by hand. The zipper closure is smooth and will keep all but the smallest items from spilling out. And the colors on the outside/straw are rich and saturated - the blues and greens say ocean, with the tan matching a sandy beach. It's a great size for those days when you have a little more than your purse can handle - books, a tablet, sunscreen, etc. And I'll enjoy using it when I want a to carry something summery and special-looking.
