I love the print of this purse. It seems to be a coated cotton, so that will help with getting the outside of the purse wet, it should just bead off. It has a large center compartment, that is half the height of the purse, and has a zipper closure. It also has a compartment on both sides of the center compartment. They are the outside of the purse. There is only one interior zippered pocket in the purse. They are perfect to hold a 5x7 calendar, as these pockets are only about 1/2 inch space. There are two slip pockets on the outside of the purse, one on each side - between the handles. I ended up keeping the purse, as I waited to long to return. This purse just doesn't work for me, entirely my fault for not realizing is isn't large enough, and doesn't have additional interior slip pockets to hold my glasses, CC case, and pens & such - which this purse doesn't have. ... show more

I am a bookworm and I have a lot of accessories that go with my reading -- Kindle, reading glasses, bookmarks, clip on reading light, charger, hardcover books from the library, etc. Every night when I go to from the livingroom to the bedroom, my hands are so full trying to juggle all of this stuff that I inevitably drop something on the way or I forget it altogether. Then once I'm all settled into bed I have to get up and wake up the dog and my husband, etc., to go get the thing I forgot. No more! From now on this bag is going to travel with me wherever I plan to read. It holds everything and then some. I love the triple compartments -- my hard copy book goes in the sturdy middle section. My Kindle goes in the outer pocket. My little zipper bag of chargers and bookmarks goes in another pocket. My reading glasses have their own separate nook. There's even room for my iPhone. Everything easily stays together with magnet closures. No more digging into a random tote bag that's a big, jumbled mess. I bought this in a semi-neutral color scheme, the black and white bandana paisley pattern, and I am going to be decorating it with seasonal purse charms such as maple leafs for fall, candy canes for Christmas or hearts for Valentine season. This is my first Vera Bradley bag and I'm very impressed with the sturdiness and quality. I bought this as "used/good condition" for less than half price and it arrived in flawless condition with the tags still attached.
