  • Breathe easier
I can’t say whether it works or not, but the evidence backs it up. Real easy to install…20 min. If it doesn’t work if there’s an emp it’s going to fail a $55k truck!

  • Hopefully, we never need it...
We live in wild times. Coronal mass ejections are happening and there is talk about EMPs being used as weapons. There is NOTHING I can do about those thing - but I can do my best to be prepared. Installing the wires is easy enough - but the box has to be anchored too. I did not want to worry about sinking screws in the wrong place in the engine compartment - so I had the dealership do it. It was only $65 to get it installed. For me, it was worth it. ... show more

  • It’s large
It was too large for me to find a place to install on my 2004 Toyota Highlander.

  • If an EMP / CME / Lightning Strike happens... I'm ready.
Owning a 2001 Jeep GC Limited, I realized my options slim. Most newer vehicles have SO many computer chips, therefore are not your first choice for a "bug-out" vehicle, if at all. When I started preparing my home faraday cage to protect my electronics, I wondered, is there ANYTHING I can do about my Jeep? An EMP or CME (Coronal Mass Ejection-Solar flare) may NEVER happen, BUT if it does, my odds of having to foot it out of this oasis when it becomes a desert, just became a little less likely thanks to the EMP Shield. INSTALLED FAST AND SIMPLE Now, I will warn you, you are going to have to find a spot to install it. Most people won't have ANY problem as the unit isn't huge, but it still does have a footprint that must be accommodated. My Jeep really had one little spot for it (see photos). Now, coming up underneath might have worked for me, but the layout works for me. Now, for the record, the order of hook up, from the folks at EMP Shield, went Red (+ battery terminal), then Green (ground), and then Black (- battery terminal). Pretty simple, and from the pictures you can see it was a success. ... show more

  • Hope for simple quality
Simply reading the product description , well, thats all we get to make an informed decision to purchace. Homeland Security endorses this product, should I be concerned ? Yes, and I am concerned about the sloppy unprofessional method used to attatch ring terminals to the lead wires. As important as these connections are to the proper functionality of this device, the electrical connectors must be able to withstand the elements that it is subjected to on and off our highways. Corrosion is the number one killer of any electrical connection. The manner in which the eyes have been attatched to the lead wires is unapropriate for exterior use. The wire and the ring crimp at the connection are not sealed against moisture and caustic solutions such as road salt and liquid chlorinated deicer solutions, dirt, dust and whatever else blows in. Also, for the rather large purchace price, one would hope for soldered connections and shrinkfit seals at least. Hopefully, the items housing is sealed good to last. Other than that, I cant see inside it, the item appears ready to install. Still hoping its worth the ...................... ... show more

  • Installation for new 2020 Subaru XT
This product has solid UL certification and Keystone Compliance testing results for the military. I spoke with their office in Kansas and they indicated that it is being installed in Army Stryker vehicles. I installed this device to protect against any high power surge due to lighting or other source(s). All new 2020 vehicles are loaded with sensitive electronics and this product may offer protection and definitely a piece of mind. The Subaru Service Manager mentioned several incidents of lightning strikes destroying electrical circuitry. The product is attached to the battery, positive and negative poles with a ground wire to the chassis. A previous reviewer gave a very negative review that the device cannot protect against EMP event; however, it does claim to shunt an amperage surge up to 100K. The Siemens whole house FS100 and FS140 surge protectors shunt at 100K/140K A. My only difficulty was its installation in a new 2020 Subaru XT, loaded with electronics. The space, under the hood, was so tight that I had an car electronics professional (for after factory electronic installations) do the work for me. ... show more
