This violin necklace is the CUTEST! Its size is just right for a big kid or adult (it would probably look "too big" on a child, but that's probably not a big deal), and the quality is outstanding. This little violin necklace is way better than I expected. I got it thinking it’d be a fun gift for a music-loving friend, but now I’m kinda tempted to keep it for myself (even though I haven't touched a violin since middle school orchestra). The pendant has a nice shine to it—like, not "blingy" in a weird way, just clean and eye-catching. The rhinestones are subtle, and the violin shape is actually really detailed for something this small. It’s lightweight, but it doesn’t feel like it’ll fall apart if you look at it wrong. The chain is... fine. Nothing to write home about, but not awful either. If you’ve got sensitive skin or just want a little upgrade, swapping it out would be easy. I also like that the length is adjustable, which helps avoid the whole awkward-too-tight-choker situation. I play the violin, so I'm pleased to have this necklace to wear to rehearsals. I had a silver one already, but it's nice to now have an option in gold too. You can fasten it at 16" or use the extender to get an 18" length, which is long enough to hang low below the shoulder rest so it doesn't get in the way while you play. All the little cz stones are fastened firmly and haven't fallen off. I'm the concertmaster of our community orchestra, so a lot of people see it and I've gotten some nice compliments. I saw this necklace and thought it would be fun and too cute for for my daughter who plays violin. The necklace pendent is about 1.5 inch tall by .5 inch wide. It looks just like a violin with the bow going across. The pendent and the chain are made of brass, but looks gold. The pendent also has strategically placed rhinestone embellishments. The chain is adjustable and can hang to about 16 inches. As far as costume jewelry goes, the necklace is made well. However, it is kinda cheap. Especially the chain. It reminds me of a bauble I would see at my fav deep discount store. Not necessarily a bad thing. Cheap costume jewelry can be real fun to wear. And this necklace is very charming.
