Built sturdy. I received the updated model. The changed the protective cover to extend more and a few other things. There is a noticeable halo effect around the red dot even in daylight. Reflections were also an issue in low light. It shows the optics sensor in the glass. My guess is the front glass coating is off and with the size of the window it reflects internals. Solar is definitely strong enough to power the dot. Wish there were more reticle choices. I can’t speak to it holding zero as it was an easy return. I gave it two stars because while build materials is nice. It fails at what it is suppose to do be a clear red dot. Seems like it didn’t go through testing especially in various lighting scenarios.

I got the multiple reticle option, and it seems to work quite well. Overall the build quality on it seems GOOD, not incredible, but seems like quality that I would rely on for sporting. It's made out of fairly thick metal and otherwise overall high quality parts and seems to be assembled quite well. It has very simple controls, comes with a novelty little allen key for adjustments, and is well packaged. In terms of form factor it's not the lowest profile red dot out there that's for sure, but this is just about perfect for an AR-15/M4/M-16 type platform. That said I was a bit confused when reading the manual why the manual which came with mine states that it is intended for handguns, can't imagine why anyone would use this on a handgun, but gonna assume that's a typo of some type. Also a bit bummed out that the multiple reticle option does not also have solar functionality, as the combination of the two I think would take this to the next level but, as is it's still a nice item. In terms of visual clarity, it's decent. Price point at $259 seems a little steep but not out of line with the quality provided, I would just shop around a bit before buying.

This is a top-quality scope with the advantage of solar to help with battery life. Seems built almost good enough to drive a tank over! I especially like the sleep function that turns off the red dot to conserve energy until you move the scope again and it is instantly back on.

Out of the box, it is as advertised, as far as the clarity, (large)size, and looks. Playing around with it, it feels sturdy and the glass is clear with pretty descent optics. I am still waiting on my rifle but I can't wait to try it out and cross my fingers that it stays zero'd. If not my son can probably use it for his air soft rifle. But so far the build quality looks on point, installation looks easy and I feel the finish looks as good as the more expensive ones.

This optic never worked for the moment it arrived! Solar did not work as well as the shake and wake. It has been 4 weeks and 12 emails with Vector and I still have no clue when it will be replaced or repaired! So much for the Vip warranty
