I got this articulated finder to rig up temporary spot-lights for my boat that can be aimed at will. I rarely – actually, so far, never – boat at night. But in an upcoming tournament I may have to. These spot-lights will be used to see what’s in the water ahead of or beside the boat while slowly underway, but removed when not needed during the daytime. The medium-sized arm can be removed from the base ball by loosening the arm enough – that makes the light removable. This articulated finder mount has a very good powder-coat finish and the over-all fit and finish is excellent quality, on par with another brand with the name of a male sheep. The two 1.5” balls are smooth and nicely coated with a smooth but sticky material that lets the unit move when needed but hold when needed. Note that this mount is available in a variety of arm lengths, ball sizes, and top plates, so you should be able to find one that will work for your finder. For me, the spot light will mount easily to the small, round top plate.

This surprised me with how well made it is. 5 stars! Pros: * Very well designed and constructed. * Total swing on each pivot point is a little more than 180 degrees, I'm guessing around 185-190. This means excellent versatility and maneuverability that will make it nicer to work with than some others. * Mounting balls have aluminum bases, with a slightly grippy polymer covering each ball such that they have just the right amount of "traction" for this application. * The arm has a spring inside that helps to open it when you loosen the screw. This makes it very easy to work with. * Both halves of the arm appear to be identical. This is nice in several ways, including the way the bolt head is recessed into the side of the arm. With both pieces being the same the bolt can be put through the arm in either direction, making it easily reversible. * The bolt in the center of the arm is long enough so you don't need to completely remove the nut to insert or remove either of the balls. * The bolt is made of stainless steel and the nut is made of brass, inside a thick and sturdy plastic handle that is easy to grab and turn. Again, GOOD DESIGN! * Inside the sockets there is a checkered pattern of grooves to give them just the right amount of grip on the balls. * There's a screw in the middle of each base that holds the ball in place. The head of the screw is only accessible from the back side of the mounting plate. Cons: * Made in China Overall: An excellent product, but I wish they would find a better place to make such things.

I have a phone cradle on the end of a RAM mount on the front of my wheelchair. It gets bumped a lot and that has to be ok. I have the tension tight enough to hold it steady over bumps, loose enough that a person walking into my phone causes the arm to give way rather than the cradle release my phone and drop it on the ground. The RAM version didn't hold that tension very well and it would always get floppy, needing tightening every other day. Replacing the RAM mounts with these I find it much easier to tighten them enough that they don't slip easily. It is possible to make these more rigid with fewer turns. That is important for people with poor grip strength. I don't have that issue but many chair users do.

I tried VAZESWIN's B-size ~6-inch mount and came away very impressed by their product design. But I have applications that can overwhelm the 1-inch ball clamping strength and induce shake. So, I wanted to see if their C-size variant would be an improvement. Like their other offerings in this space, the build quality is exceedingly good. The design is excellent. Fit and finish is superb. The clamping power of the C-size ball joints assures no sagging or shaking. Rigid as anything! I especially like the shape of the dog bone style arms. See photos for a comparison to the B-size arm. The build quality of the plates, the drillings of the holes, the finish, and cast aluminum arms, are all exemplary. Highly recommend their line of marine mounts!

This ball mount is a perfect fit for my 9 inch screen on my 93sv. Holds without any issues what so ever and I would buy this over and over again. Size C ball is interchangeable with any ball this size and I had no trouble switching the round base plate for a larger rectangle one to fit the gimble of the garmin. I have 0 negatives to sat.

This mount is very well made overall. The knurled insides of each end make gripping the ball-ends extra effective with a minimal amount of pressure. The only plastic piece appears to be the wing nut; with everything else being metal and a rubber coating on each ball. With multiple holes in different positions, each plate has good options for fixing to surfaces or devices. Nice product and quality built piece.

Well engineered, high quality. Very adjustable when loosened, and both ends hold firmly when tightened. Tightening screw is large - comfortable and easy to use, even with wet hands. Super useful for multiple different applications.
