I live in Wisconsin and there are winter days that my steering wheel is so cold that it hurts to touch it. I bought this steering wheel in hopes that it would help my hands not to hurt and it does the trick. It takes a few minutes to warm up, but the cover itself is not as cold as a bare steering wheel. I really like that the plug-in comes where it plugs into the steering wheel and it sticks out a bit so that prevents the cord from going around the base of the wheel. If it does, it is easy to unplug. ***Please note that this puppy is hard to put on the steering wheel. It's not a bad thing because you want it to be a tight fit and it is. I recommend letting it heat up for 10 minutes and then put it on. You don't really need any tools, but I used a butter knofe to get it over the last portion of the wheel. The price was great!

1 star bc the main function - heat - is nearly non existent in cold temps and very patchy at that, not the whole wheel. As a simple soft grippy cover, it's actually quite nice. The texture is helpful. But— it. doesn't. get. warm.

This heats well, though it takes a little longer than stated. I let my car warm up on the driveway for 5-10 mins in the wintertime before leaving for work, and I plug this in and let it heat up while the car is in park. Do not leave this plugged in while you’re driving or it will get tangled up in your steering column when you turn the wheel! I disconnect it from the cord when I’m about to put the car in drive. (If only someone could invent a wireless heated steering wheel cover!) the cover itself is a little big for small hands, but I don’t think there’s any way around that with a steering wheel cover. The fur still retains enough warmth even when disconnected, and it’s certainly a whole lot better than an ice cold steering wheel in the freezing temperatures. I lost a lot of weight and began getting Reynaud’s phenomenon when the temps dropped (this is when your fingers and toes go numb from the cold), and this steering wheel cover has really helped me this winter.

Doesn’t work when you auto start your car so it doesn’t heat up before u need to drive. Then when you turn out your driveway it just disconnects. And anytime u turn it disconnects so it doesn’t work.

PROS: It works to heat the steering wheel. It fit my 2011 Toyota Sienna XLE wheel. CONS: - Difficult to install. You MUST heat it up and stretch it around the steering wheel. Even after warming up, you need strong fingers to stretch it - it is a tight fit (as it should be). - You can't use it while driving unless you don't have to make turns. It is hazardous to drive with it plugged in while turning -- the cord can get tangled and lock your steering wheel. - You can warm up the steering wheel before driving, but once it is unplugged, the warmth goes away immediately. It does not remain warm after unplugging (though it may have taken the extreme chill off the wheel). - It's a hassle to manage the cord even when it's not plugged in. It can still tangle around the steering column and cause problems/distractions while driving. I have to loop it around and around my steering wheel to keep the cord manageable. The cord plugs into the cigarette lighter and connects to a converter inside the tight-fitting steering wheel cover, making it nearly impossible to access to unplug from the device. A battery operated version that doesn't require a cord would be more useful, but I haven't found any well-rated options. So until the polar vortex is over, I will probably still use this despite the cons.

It took a lot of pulling and stretching to get it over the wheel (Honda Pilot). Fingers are sore. I'm just an average-strength guy, so ymmv. The cord is so short that if I turn the steering wheel all the way around, it disconnects. I ordered a coiled cord on ebay, maybe that will help. It does put out some heat, but I hoped it would be warmer. It should still be nice to have. Edit: After driving for a few more hours without gloves on, I can feel the heat better. Changing this review from 2 to 3 stars. I like the material, cozy and soft. It fits snug on the wheel once it's installed.
