This is a lovely item, but it is clear that they did everything in their power to make it as inexpensively made without making it look cheap. What do I mean by that? The leather (which is high quality, buttery smooth, and soft) only extends where you can see it. All parts that are not visually apparent are the bare RFID blocking fabric (it crinkles a bit like paper) not leather. This is not properly a "leather" wallet at all, but a wallet with leather trim. Will this impact the quality long term? I am not sure. It does look and (mostly) feel nice, but I am afraid that it will wear quite quickly.

Vaultskin has figured out the formula for making slim minimalist wallets: put leather where you see it, and thinner RFID-blocking fabric where you don't. Some leather purists may take issue with this, but I've carried the Vaultskin Manhattan (which uses the same formula) as my primary wallet for the past three years, and it still looks and functions as good as new. It is with this first-hand knowledge of Vaultskin's quality that I decided to try the MOORGATE card holder. The MOORGATE will not be replacing my Manhattan, but it provides a great place to store infrequently-used cards to keep my EDC wallet from getting bloated. The leather is thinner than what you might find on a traditional leather wallet, but given the experience I shared above, I have no concerns with its durability, especially since this is an item that will spend its life in a pocket or valet tray. A good thing about its construction is that it has a supple, broken-in feel from day one, and there's no fighting with stiff leather to get your cards to fit. Unbox, load, pocket, go.

I ordered this wallet because my young adult sons keep losing their wallets so I thought it would be good to have a spare around. The day after the wallet came sure enough my son lost his wallet. So I got big points for having a brand new wallet right there for him but he liked this wallet better than his original. The quality is great and the simplicity is just perfect. If you're carrying a bunch of stuff in your wallet this is not for you but if you're looking for a simple thin design to carry the essentials than it's perfect.

I have travel plans later this year and after choosing a slim theft resistant cross body, I discovered it did not have a built in wallet. I want to keep things small and light…that’s why I chose this MOORGATE style wallet from Vaultskin. It will hold what I need for the day with no added bulk or weight. It will fit in my pocket when I just need to have my key card and a credit card at the hotel. I think it is just about as perfect as I could imagine. Initially I thought it might be a bit high on the price …but after reviewing other GENUINE leather RFID ultra slim wallets, I found it was an extremely good value. Keep in mind the whole point of this wallet is being thin….so don’t expect bulky extra areas of leather or anything that would add to the slim profile. It does exactly what I hoped and more than I expected. I don’t give 5 star reviews easily, even when I post a 5 star rating, I many times roll up from 4.5 but, this is truly a 5.0 I hope my experience, thoughts and opinions helps someone looking for their perfect ultra thin wallet.

I've never really understood nor even liked bulky wallets. They made sense when you were carrying around cash or pictures of your family - when it had more of a multi-purpose use. Now that we operate primarily on cards, there's no need for them, and so it was a revelation when I switched over to a minimal wallet similar to this one. I've not gone back since. This is a fantastic option if you're looking to have a lightweight, minimal solution to carry around cash and cards. Out of the box it holds about 6-7 cards, but I think you could do more as it stretches. You're not going to fit a ton of cash (maybe 5-folded bills), but that's not an issue. The leather is of good qulaity and the dark blue color is nice and rich. I think this will become even nicer as you condition it and it absorbs oils from your hands to develop that nice patina. The stitching is also well done. This is a really great high-value option that's going to last a long, long time.
