Like some other reviewers mentioned, I found the bottom metal shelf bowed a bit. I'm reluctant to put anything on it that's too heavy, so I knocked off a star for that...and also, like others said, the wooden boards were knicked a bit at the corners. I think the company could solve this problem by shipping this shelf in a stronger box. When I received mine, it was beat all to heck and several of the corner bumpers had been broken or knocked off. That said, this was the perfect shelf for us. I made the mistake of buying a 55" Fire TV when it was on sale with no-interest payments over two years, but the thing is huge! It's just really too big for my bedroom, so we had to find a place to put it. The rental house we live in has no storage anywhere, and the whole house is just not terribly well designed for the furniture. One bit of wasted space was the non-working gas fireplace that essentially just takes up room. The tile part prevented us from putting any kind of chest or other table there because of the unevenness of the floor. I got this shelf largely because the size looked right and the feet come with levelers. I didn't need to use the levelers, however, because the legs just clear the hearth tiles. The shelf doesn't stick out past the edge of the tile, and the TV and soundbar fit just fine. Even greater, the height is such that the fireplace is completely covered up and the TV almost looks like it's meant to be there. So I'm happy with this. All I'll say is, be sure to check all your parts to be sure they are there, take your time putting it together so you don't put things in upside down, and work with it mostly turned on its side. The hardest part is putting the tabletop on it. I found that by pushing the end of the table/shelf up against a recliner, I was able to lay the tabletop on the recliner and slide it until I could get the first screws put in on the other side. After that, it was a piece of cake. Having help is nice, but you can manage without it. ... show more

S.O. was determined to put this together. The picture only directions seemed to be a problem for him. After fighting with it for an hour, I cleared up the issue, but it had to be taken apart again to fix. Lol. After some time in use I can see a slight bow in the top piece. The TV feet sit way out at the edges and nothing is in the center. It is only noticeable when you really look. TV is no longer on this stand so I'm not worried about any further bowing from a candle and picture frames. ... show more

    • Great stand for the money! BUT REMOVE THE PLASTIC GUARDS
As my title says, this is a really good stand for the price. Idk why some people are saying it's cheap and fragile, apparently they need a stand that can hold 1,700lb. The build quality of this stand is perfectly adequate for a TV and accessories (though I will admit, the metal grate on the bottom is flimsy, it'd struggle under weight, I use it for shoes). All of the metal parts are well built. The wooden parts are particle board but they're not flimsy by any means, just don't torque the crap out of the screws into them and you'll be fine. Assembly was stupid easy, took me 20 minutes maybe. HOWEVER! REMOVE THE PLASTIC GUARDS ON THE CORNERS OF THE WOODEN PIECES. This is stated nowhere in the instruction manual and they actually require some force to remove, so I assumed they were part of the piece, they're not. Once I got everything put together, the last screw on the top part didn't perfectly line up (because of the plastic guards on the middle piece bending the supports). I finally realized those parts needed to come off so I disassembled the middle and top shelves, took the guards off and everything fit like a glove. ... show more

This TV stand is solid and looks just as pictured. The only negative for me is that the assembly was not the easiest. Some of the holes (especially when attaching the table layers to the legs) were hard to align. Once put together though, it is very sturdy and looks great!

    • Despite the Elbow Grease, I'd Do It All Again
Buyer tip: Wear gloves and have a mallet available, as some of the metal pieces were slightly bent and required some strong-arming into place. A mallet helped with that. I've assembled my fair share of furniture, so I'd say I'm an everyman (not a novice but not a pro), and it took me about 45-60 minutes to assemble. It looks fantastic, a centerpiece in the room. Not the most challenging item I've ever assembled but also not the easiest. Even though she required some elbow grease, have to say it was worth it - looks great! (All tools were provided, instructions were easy to follow; gloves will come in handy on some of the sharper corners/edges and for when the screws require extra work to come together due to some slight bends in the metal pieces.) Despite that elbow grease required, I'd do it again - but it's also the reason I couldn't give this a five-star. ... show more
