I LOVE this piece and I am now looking into additional items from this furniture set on Amazon! It arrived earlier than expected (we had a major blizzard and I was expecting to wait a day or two) and now that it is all together, I'm so happy. Complete novice at putting stuff together but for the most part this build went pretty well. Some wood pieces were mislabeled but just watch for sizing and hole placements. The one drilled all the way through is the top one, and they go from the bottom up from largest to smallest! Also be wary if it's 1am and you get the magical idea of holding pieces up with your feet in attempts to screw it all in together! Stuff might come crashing down on your face. Hence the notice. Oops! Once fully put together, this shelf is worth the money and is very beautiful. My complaint is there are obvious mistakes in the instructions, such as putting shelf B where C should be. Also, pieces F are ever-so slightly angled and must be placed in the proper direction. How do you know which direction? Trial and error. The instructions show arrows pointing to a direction but forget to show the angle on the reinforcement. Another complaint is that some of the shelves are not fully drilled out where the screw nuts go. You won't realize this until it gets stuck and the screws won't go in. ... show more

I had an empty corner space that was bothering me and found this corner shelf shelf unit that I thought would be perfect for it. It was tricky for one person to put together - two would be easier - but I was able to do it alone. I tried really carefully to follow the instructions so Iwouldm't have to re-do anything, and realized from the start that the two upper side rails were slanted, but it was hard to tell from the manual's pictures which way the slants were to go. The first time I put it together I had them slanting downwards towards the back and the shelf really doesn't come together well - there are gaps one other person mentioned in their review and the finished project was wobbly and looked horrible. I realized I had them on wrong, and would have to take almost the whole thing apart to turn the slants so the downward slant of the upper side poles pointed forward. I put it off for a couple days because I couldn't handle the thought of trying to put it together by myself again. But I finally went for it. Taking it apart and turning the slants and reassembling it was smoother and quicker than the first assembly. I guess I had mastered the process by then. And this time the piece came together well and looks great. When it's not standing in the corner it doesn't seem real sturdy, but once you set it in the corner it leans into the corner perfectly. You wouldn't want to put it anywhere but in a corner. Great design. There are tethers included that you can fasten to the wall but I don't think I personally need those. Nobody will be bumping into it in that corner space. Maybe if you have small kids that could get up close you'd want to do that. The wood shelves are of substantial weight and look really nice. I think you could put pretty heavy things on the unit, though I'm just using it for light decorative pieces. It's nice. I would recommend it. ... show more

We bought this to put in the corner of a sunroom. We chose this one mainly because it was not too large, as it would be situated between windows in a corner. Quality is decent, and I like the adjustable foot on the back leg as our floor is somewhat uneven in the corner. I will offer two tips: One, when you begin assembly, only loosely tighten the screws until you get to the end, or you will have trouble putting the top shelf on (as others have reported). And two, assemble the whole thing upside-down so that the threaded inserts that the screws screw into don't just fall out. Oh, and it is very helpful to have two people build it. ... show more

First off, these shelves are gorgeous and don’t have the cheap look or feel to them by any means. I’m in love with the color and was so excited to get them put together and up in my freshly painted kitchen. Here’s where my problem is. I started putting the shelves together an hour after they arrived on my front porch. I took a picture of where my problem was in the instruction manual. The rod labeled “G” is suppose to have a screw hole at one end where it connects to the bottom rod “E” and then at the other end, a different hole to secure the top shelf. The rod “G” that I got in my box has the connection hole to rod “E” on the same end that the top shelf is suppose to go on. So i can’t connect the two rods and I can’t attach my top shelf. My feelings are so sore right now. ... show more

I read the other reviews before purchasing this and I am indeed pleased with the quality. It's a heavy little piece, so even though it has a very slight wobble to it, I don't think it's going anywhere especially when it's pushed into a corner and supported by the wall. It also comes with drywall screws so that you can attach the unit to the wall if you're not confident it will stay upright. The other comments about it being hard to assemble have me mystified. The angles on two of the top bars are indeed small and can be easily missed when putting the bars in, but you shouldn't be able to assemble the whole thing without noticing it's off. I put the top shelf on and instantly noticed one of the bars was inserted incorrectly because the top of the bar wasn't lining up with the bottom of the shelf. I would say just pay attention to the unit and how the parts fit when assembling it and you should be able to put it together in 30 minutes flat. ... show more
