Personally it has stopped my 185,000 mile, 16 year old Subaru EJ253 engine from consuming/burning oil in just 2 3,000 mile interval oil changes. I was previously burning about a quart of oil every 1,000 miles before using the Valvoline restore and protect and it has already done its job and then some. Not only have I stopped consuming oil, I’ve seen roughly a +3mpg increase compared to the times I’ve used and tracked MPG while using Shell Rotella T6 and Pennzoil Ultra Platinum; it doesn’t end there either as I regularly check my engine oil dipstick out of habit because the car used to burn oil and I had to stay on top of the oil level. Upon checking my oil level at 1,000 miles into the second oil change I was shocked to see how clean the Valvoline oil was on the sides of the dipstick, using other oils and checking them at that interval has always had my oil looking quite black and dirty just 1000 miles after a change, this was not the case with the restore and protect; it came out at 1000 miles looking very clean, translucent and not discolored. I've used this in my 2014 Buick Encore with 91k miles on it for 2 oil changes and the results are extremely impressive. The engine in the 'ole gal is noticably quieter and my gas milage is definately improving. I switched from Mobil 1 to this oil based primarily on reviews and I'm glad I made the switch. This vehicle is not only my commuter car (80 miles per day), but it's my "winter" vehicle so it sees some temperature extremes. This oil is remarkable ! This oil does exactly what Valvoline says it does. Ring packs slowly become cleansed of carbon and the rings finally loosen up and operate as designed thus greatly reducing oil consumption. After using this oil for two cycles I switched to a more expensive syn oil and found that I lost fuel efficiency and general drivability. So I switched back to VRP and my Infiniti FX45 is running like a Swiss watch with improved mpg. VRP might just be the greatest engine oil ever formulated. I can't stop talking about this oil, my engine is running much quieter and it's cleaning the internal deposits from my Toyota Tacoma's 4.0L Motor. Toyota Motors are known for oil consumption when piston oil rings get stuck in ring grooves once internal deposits develop.

Seems to do what it advertises. Even my dipstick lost the nasty varnish color. Everything I have read, confirms that it cleans very well. If it's your first use on a high mileage engine, consider a short interval to your next oil change, they remove a lot of gunk, and you can actually see it in the drained oil. Engine performance: Better than what was in my engion befor. I think it runs better now with this new oil. But i can't tell if its because of this oil or if its because the oil is new. Value for money: Its alright but i would recommend you buy it on Walmart its chiper over their and its the same exact oil. But i would order it online cause in some cases people get the bottle alredy opened and leaking oil. Synthetic content: I watched videos of people opening engiones that used this oil and it looks supper clean. But it could also be because they change the oil frequently.
