When I first applied this fragrance, I’ll admit, I was disappointed a bit. I thought it was loud, obnoxious, and quite frankly, I thought it smelled cheap. But within maybe 5 minutes, things settled a bit, and it’s genuinely so addicting. I cannot stop smelling my wrists and reapplying throughout the day. I’ve been now layering it on top of a subtle vanilla lotion and a vanilla body mist and the combination is heavenly. I never would’ve thought to mix these scents, as this perfume is fairly floral and fruity. I’m a firm believer that perfume should be a reward for intimacy and not a punishment for proximity, and this one hits that mark in a way I am having trouble finding words for. This was a blind buy so I only got the small bottle, but I will absolutely be purchasing the largest size before this one runs out. This perfume is very feminine, sensual, elegant, and playful. I’d absolutely recommend.

The media could not be loaded. I usually dislike hyped-up fragrances, but I tested Born in Roma while wandering around downtown one evening and was in love with it by the time I got home. It feels feminine and cheerful, just girly in the best way, and full of sunshine. The opening is sweet and sparkling, with jasmine wrapped in vanilla musk and warm, cuddly cashmere. The candied blackcurrant and pink pepper add a charming sweetness that makes the whole fragrance feel literally pink. Some reviewers say it's weak, but on me it lasts all day with a noticeable scent trail. When I first unboxed my bottle, I was disappointed because it smelled flatter than the tester. After letting it sit and macerate for a couple weeks, however, it bloomed into the scent I remembered and loved, and now I wear it frequently. I especially love wearing this in the winter, when its richness feels like a cozy hug against the cold. If you enjoy modern, sweet fruity-florals with a touch of depth and vanilla, Born in Roma is both comforting and uplifting. It's an easy reach for me on days when I'm not sure what to wear. The bottle is also quite decadent, all heavy glass with a great, even atomizer, a metallic cap that fits securely, and the thick plastic studs around the bottle neck.
