Very cute seat for my shower. I like the wood, it's made well. Took 30 mins to put together. It's replacing a moldy mildew plastic & metal one. You need an adjustable wrench and a flat head screwdriver to put together. I'm happy with it.

I needed a stool tall and strong enough for me to sit on with a flat top for holding bottles. This one is perfect for our guest tub-shower and I plan to get another when our master bath suite remodel is complete. I almost didn't buy it because of other reviews about mold. However, I've been using this stool for a month and have not had any issues so far. It has a varnished finish and water beads on it so I don't see how it could grow mold but we live in Colorado where humidity is low so maybe others are in humid zones where mold is more of a problem. We did have mold in this tub calking and got rid of it with a gel product so I know mold can grow in this area. We now dry off the calked edges of the tub after every shower and I also dry of the top of the bamboo stool but will update if we run into any problems. So far, I'm super happy with this purchase. Update: the varnish is wearing off and we've seen a little bit of black mold start to develop. I use a mold killing gel to remove. I still like the stool but the finish disintegrating after a few months of use is disappointing. I might sand and add several coats of varnish.

I regret purchasing the bamboo bench, as it turned out to be a complete disappointment. Despite being advertised as waterproof, within just two months of use, the bench became covered in mold, which clearly shows that it doesn’t live up to its claims. The mold growth has completely ruined the bench, making it both unsightly and unusable. This is a prime example of how a product can be falsely advertised, leading to wasted money. I highly recommend trying any other and reading reviews first.

Note I am not using this for its original intended functions, instead I wanted a small water-proof/tolerant shelf to hold a UPS up off the floor of my basement in an area that could wind up under water if the basement were to flood due to heavy rains, or failure of my sump pump or because a water line might break (which has happened previously). This item is perfect for this alternate usage as it is water resistant and offers a nice amount of extra height below the UPS that is now sitting on top of it. It is nice, stable, sturdy, and perfectly sized in terms of the amount of surface space it provides. Also fairly nice on the affordability scale. Just nothing not to like for me, except, uh, a little bit of splintery surface on the edges of the top portion (the bench top). If not for that, it would be perfect in my book. In reality, getting one of these without some minor splinters may not be that easy. Just the nature of bamboo wood. (I've gotten very familiar with bamboo wood as I had a large growth of it in my backyard that I'm continuing to eradicate on a more permanent basis.). In board form it still tends to be a bit fibrous/splintery, no matter how much you might work on sanding and smoothing it out.
